BostonChick, I noticed in your timeline that your check was cashed just 3 days after the package arrived. My package arrived with them over 10 days ago and it has not yet been cashed. I mailed one check for $275 for both the application and biometrics (which it indicates is acceptable on the form instructions).

I know it got there, it was signed for by 'P.Novak' who was the receiver on all our prior submissions. But do you think this is cause for concern or no? My submission was extremely thorough but I'm always paranoid they'll bump it back to me for some reason!

- Anthony.

I wouldn't worry yet. USCIS is not the best oiled machine, if you know what I mean. If it's been more than 2-3 weeks though, I would definitely give them a call. I know how nerve wrecking the wait is.

I can't believe how LOOOONG it's taking them to process the I-751s.

Cheers,

Boston CHick

I'm waiting too... Oh my gosh ..it gives me the chills just to think that there are people from october/november waiting....

I wish this was over already...Other centers are so fast...

I can apply for citizenship right now, but I really want to wait untill I get this approved. I think if I apply now, it won't speed up my process....actually it may delay LOLOL I don't know...

Permanent resident with10 year greencard

Meredith, I believe you are better off applying for citizenship right away. This way you will cut your total wait time. I would take any of the few shortcuts USCIS has given us - in this case, the option to apply for citizenship before the conditions have been removed. I think USCIS itself realizes how slow it is (sometimes, most of the time?), which is why it has decided to permit this overlap in timeline.

So Vermont is slow with I-751s. But if we were all lucky enough to go through VSC when we got our initial visa we all sped through past other SCs and got to be here quicker than everyone else. A little patience in this last leg before citizenship wouldn't go amiss.

Meredith -- just go ahead and apply for citizenship. Why wait and delay another process?

Yeah, I don't know about patience any more. It looks like my well of patience has been exhausted. I've been here in the US for 9 years already - first on a student visa, then on a work visa, then a green card. I'm anxious to wrap this up! I think I'm pretty much ready to become a citizen, at least from a cultural perspective - but that's not what counts.
