K-1 accepted in Dallas and being sent to CA

Hello Visa Journey fam, I know a lot of you are on the verge of being subscribed a benzo of some sort to help you get through this process.

   Anyway, I sent out the I-129-f last week to Dallas and the check had been cashed this morning and I got a confirmation receipt in the afternoon. With the packet being sent along it took about 2 pounds off my shoulders of about a ton. Can anyone...

 

 

a) help me out with any insight as to what the packet being sent along really means? For instance, since it is being moved along does that at least mean that everything was in the packet or did they just cash the check and call it a day. Basically, is there some type of a reviewal of the necessary forms needed in Dallas?

 

b) can anybody give me any insight as to how long it really took to hear back something/anything from the California or Vermont office?

I'm pretty sure they just make sure that you've sent the correct amount of money, then cash the check and send it to California...As far as how long it takes, you should check out some of the K-1 forum threads and follow the one for May filers so you can check in with people who filed when you did. You'll see that the most recent filers to get their NOA2 (notice of assessment that says your petition is approved and gets sent on to the National Visa Center) are from October- early November 2017. I filed at the very beginning of January, so I'm expecting to hear something in about two months' time. You should fill out your personalized timeline and it will automatically update with estimated dates etc! Good luck, try not to think about it toooo much, and the time will fly by
