Question about form I-485 Based on K1 Visa

Hello Friends,

 

My wife I-485 status based on K1 visa was changed from ready for interview (as of May, 08 2017) to can't provide information and you have to call.

Her application is with Dallas service center, and just (waiting for interview status) it's going to be 12 months in few days. Is that normal? Does anybody completed a year waiting for the interview?

It seems as it is... I am coming up on 9 months and I just called the senator's office... The senator's office told me that it can take any where from 15 to 28.5 months. I am officially depressed.

Nothing is taking less than a year these days.  It could still take a couple more months. You are almost there.

Did she get her EAD before the waiting for interview status? Coz i didnt get my EAD until now, its almost 6 months and im scared i have to wait for a year more before the interview without a job still.

I think it all just depends on the service center. Dallas seems to be busy. My husband filed 11/16/17 for AOS based on K1. Interview was 3/13/2018 and he was approved and received conditional greencard a week later. He actually received his EAD a week after that (so he didn't get it before). We were through the Cincinnati office and it seems like the timelines were quicker than other areas.  If your status has changed and is no longer giving information- I would reach out to USCIS.
