Hi all, I am very worried now.

I passed the road test and applied for a driver's license. However, the staff could not verify my information, so she created a SAVE case for me to be verified with USCIS. My SAVE case has finished reviewing on the same day and returned to DMV. On the SAVE system, they asked me to contact DMV for more information. But when I came to DMV, all they said was that I should receive a letter from DMV and bring that letter with me to get a license next time. I waited for two weeks, nothing happened. Does anybody here have the same situation? When do you receive your letter from DMV? There is a 30 day limit to get a license after you pass the road test. I am very worried now.

Thanks very much!

I had a similar problem and someone on VJ told me how to get it sorted out. The head of the CA DMV is in Sacramento so I called them. They have a department that is just specialized on DL for immigrants and verifying their status. The guy on the phone had me fax a photocopy of my EAD and my DMV permit number and told me the same day that he had verified my status with USCIS and that I will receive my DL very soon (I got it just a few days after). Find out where your states DMV headquarter is and call them.

Thanks very much! How did you find the headquarter's number. I am in MA, the headquarter is in Quincy. Their number is the state-wide number, which is 800-858-3926. Do you mean ask any agent on the state-wide number to transfer me to the headquarter and speaking with the specialist on DL?

Yep basically call that number and explain the problem to them. They should be able to point you to someone that can help you specifically.

okay, thanks very much! I'll try again on Monday. The funny thing is I actually did as what you just said, but all they say is wait, wait for a letter that from SAVE by way of DMV. And they cannot tell me when I would receive it.... So frustrating...
