Hello!

For my fiancé to get his police check, does he have to wait until we get the NOA2 and New case number? Or can he go ahead and get it done? (Will receive the NOA2 probably in the next week or so)

Thank you!

No need to wait for NOA2 or the NVC case number. I would apply for police check right away. Its usually valid for 6 months or a year depends on country. Check the requirements in the embassy page. I had mine 4 months before the case got to the embassy.

I would go ahead and get it. I'm an 11/14 filer and told my fiance to go ahead and get it to be prepared. I'm also having her collect things like vaccination records, a few copies of birth certificates, etc... and having them translated to English, so we will have them for when she comes to the US in case we need them. Now might also be a good time to get 6 passport style photos (some for the medical exam, some for the interview - but this might vary by country).

On my end, I've gone ahead and written updated "intent to marry" letters for both of us to sign soon, and getting updated documents ready for the I134-a, since it's been several months since the ones I included in the application and a new tax year has passed.

Be Prepared. Scout Motto. LOL

Get it now. It is valid for 12 months. They are fast so no need to expedite.

Get any needed shots done before medical exam.
