Dear UPS,

I live in an apartment building on the fifth floor. I was home all day yesterday writing. You came to deliver a package. Containing jewelry for my bridesmaids.

What on earth made you think it was appropriate to leave the package in the front door to the building and not even bother to buzz up to my apartment or the super's? The only reason I know that anything was "delivered" is due to checking the delivery status online!

Grrrrr. May your brown short pants bleach in the wash.

01/17/2007 Faxed the checklist to the Immigrant Visa Unit in Frankfurt

03/29/2007 Got letter from USCIS to provide evidence that our marriage is bona fide

04/02/2007 Sent to USCIS lots of evidence

05/03/2007 I have an unofficial "PETITION APPROVED" ...waiting for confirmation from Consulate

05/07/2007 Received email from USCIS ROME confirming that our petition was approved (why Rome? because we complained to the District Office Rome about the Sub-Office Frankfurt..it took too long for our petition to be approved)...now waiting for the interview letter from the Consulate

05/18/2007 E-mail from IV Frankfurt, our interview was scheduled for May 29th

05/19/2007 Packet 4 in the mail: ja ja ja interview letter

05/29/2007 Interview at 7.30 a.m. APPROVED Thank you, God!

06/01/2007 Visa arrived !

06/03/2007 Mayday on the plane POE Cincinnati

Living in Maryland

06/21/2007 Welcome Notice from USCIS

06/29/2007 Applied for SSN at the local Office

07/07/2007 Green Card arrived

07/09/2007 Another 2 Welcome Letters from USCIS...God, they really love me! :D

07/20/2007 Social Security Card arrived

01/18/2009 PCS-ing to Stuttgart Germany

Feb 2009 Received letter from VSC to start removing conditions.

The UPS guy here is always good about knocking, but he doesnt wait, he just knocks and goes!! USPS guy just drops it off, no knock!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The UPS guy that got wacked in texas tried to knock and go, but it didnt work out that way.

Oh, no, that's the worst of it. It isn't here. The only reason I know it was left at the front door is that that's what the website says. Package's gone. Super doesn't have it, I don't have it, UPS says they don't have it, but that they delivered it to the front door.

Oh no! I wonder what recourse you have now... maybe a neighbor took it in for you? shrug.

Last month UPS left my compact dishwasher at the door (hundreds of dollars) with signs on it saying what was inside. It was not too terribly difficult to lift, and it's a miracle it was still there...

yea neither ups or fedex wait for you to open the door, they just knock, buzz and thats it, unless u specify the signature service, so if ur not there they take it to an authorized dealer, and call u from there i thnk

Yea. They didn't buzz. I called them, and the UPS lady was sympathetic, but she told me to call the shipper (overstock.com) and have them order a trace on the package, and they said, if UPS can't find it, they'll ship me new stuff after the trace is complete in a week or so.

all the little angels above, how hard is it to push the f*cking buzzer. Package has a label with a number. Buzzer has a number next to it. Take your finger and push the buzzer!

wow i hope your package isn't stolen! what service!!!!!!!! i'm surprised they wouldn't send jewelry with delivery confirmation required! i live on a high floor of a walk-up and they always seem pissed when i buzz them in instead of going down and outside to get my package. ha!

LMAO, that letter was a classic. :lol: Sorry you dont have the package. That was very foolish of UPS to leave it without notification. I hope you can recover it soon. :huh:

If UPS or Overstock doesnt want to replace it, then contact ur credit card!! I have bought stuff off of Ebay, the seller never sent it (or they said they did!!) I just contacted my Credit card, they mailed me a form to fill out explaining the transaction, and they eventually refunded my $$$, didnt take that long!! Best of luck
