Yikes... that's not good news.

I'll get an appointment with them as soon as any appear on the InfoPass site and see what is going on.

Where do you locate this Infopass site?  And does anyone here know how this will impact the drivers license expiring when the EAD expires in the state of Georgia?  How do you go about applying for a new EAD?  Do you have to submit another application with the fees, again?  Thanks for any info.

One person in the 2016 December filers thread just got his/her interview letter yesterday. Sometimes it just takes a long time, maybe especially these days.

EAD is for free when you have a pending i-485 (I sure hope you didn't pay for your first EAD either, that was wasted money if so). You just send in a new application like you did the first time, and a copy of the i-485 NOA1 as proof of pending i-485.

We did not pay for it. We submitted the EAD with the AOS. Thanks for the info.

I'm really worried and I wondered if anyone had any advice.

I filed for AOS in December 2016. I had my biometrics appointment early Feb 2017 and submitted some extra info which I can see they received early March 2017. Since then, no updates.

I put in an online case inquiry request which said I would have an answer by April 12. I've still got nothing. I just don't know what to do to find out why I can see a bunch of cases in people's timelines getting interviews and I'm not, and why they're not even responding to my request.

I'm freaking out because I have plane tickets to go and see my family. I stupidly thought it would be fine. I applied for AP but given current timelines, I don't think I'll get it in time. I just don't know what to do now.

Hey , did you try using ur 2nd receipt number you got  after biometrics ?

Interview Date is november 18, 2014 :dancing: :goofy:

:wow:

I'm not sure I'm meant to take such drastic action given their 'don't bother us until this amount of time has passed' timelines are extremely long. But I can see other people getting interview dates and getting approved so it's alarming.

You are right but you have been waiting for a year and half now!!! I think that's long enough to bother those people!!!

You can make an InfoPass at your local office. If there is no date available keep trying until you find an available slot.

What is an infopass and how do you know which field office you are assigned to?

Umm I'd say this calls for drastic action at this point. I contacted my senator and ombudsman for my combo card after 6 months of waiting. Contact them now.

my case is with NVC for the past 66 days now. And we are still waiting for a case number. We are following up with nvc every few days to get an update.

my question is, do you have an idea how long the rest of the steps usually take? (submitting an agent, financial affidavit and interview) we are applying from michigan (with texas lock box) and processed at UAE embassy

It appears a lot of people are in your position also. Although we have not been waiting quite as long as you (we filed July 2017), nobody is giving us an update either.

The frustrating thing is when you see people who filed many months after you getting interview notices which is happening to us right now.

I have an Infopass appointment later today which I'm hoping I can get some answers on. Will let you know how it goes.

Update:

My partner called them today (still no InfoPass appointments have appeared on the site). They basically said to come back when it's been 29 months instead. They also said because it hadn't yet been 29 months they weren't obliged to respond to my request for information.

They also said something about processing cases from Dec 2015 at the moment. I know this isn't true because if I look up Timelines I can see K1s in Atlanta who applied after me getting approved last year even.

I feel really hopeless now.

Don't let up. I've been told the same thing, the key with them is to absolutely not let up. They will hide behind processing times, but just keep pushing. I have an Infopass today and plan to get answers because you're right - seeing people who filed after you get approved, there's absolutely no excuse for it in my books.

Thank you. My partner emailed our representative and I guess I'll keep checking for InfoPass appointments.

Congressman/senator’s immigration liaison should be able to get you current status. They have direct line to USCIS.

You'll likely end up waiting forever until a slot opens. This is how you get an infopass appointment faster:

Set up an auto refresh and website change detector on your browser, you can find this add-on/extension to notify you as soon as the webpage changes.  For example if you use Google Chrome as a browser the extensions would be "SuperAuto Refresh" and "Visualping".

Then go to the USCIS infopass page where you always see the message "Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow."  and set the plugin to auto refresh.  Then set Visualping to monitor to check it every minute (one minute usually works the best).  That's it! It will notify you with a pop up when the page appears with appointment dates. You can also set it to get an email sent to you when it changes. It personally worked best for me if I was at work and online for 9 hours a day anyways to instantly check it when I got the notification as sometimes it's just an ad popping up that led to the alarm.

Even though people say that appointments are added overnight. I always got my infopass appointments around 1-3pm PST.

My AOS took 1 year (almost to the day). I was one of the August 2016 filers, and about the only one who didn’t get an interview within the first five months, so I can totally relate to your frustration.

I made an infopass appointment after waiting for 7 months. They couldn’t tell me much. I contacted my senator after 9 months of waiting, they responded few weeks later and gave me few reasons why my case could be taking a while.

I received an interview notice few days after I heard from the senator’s office. Overall, I think it was definitely beneficial to reach out to them and ask for assistance though I can’t tell you whether it was a natural course of action or the senator’s office phone call that triggered the interview appointment.

And as as far as your travel plans go - sometimes airlines allow you to exchange the plane tickets for airline credit that you can use in the future. It is not something they mention online but depending who you call in customer support - they are able to extend this courtesy to you. And if the first person strictly denies this to you - sometimes calling again and talking to someone else helps as things like that often depend on the person’s mood.

Good luck to you! I hope you get good news soon.
