They way things are going now it just may take that long. Do you have a head start on what is needed for your interview?

Hello, case has been at the NVC for 17 days now.  Spoke to someone this morning and they told me it was undergoing administrative processing.  Is anyone else going through the same? What could constitute administrative processing? I thought it was the embassy who does the actual processing.

Trust me when I say this, it's normal to undergo additional vetting at NVC. Does it happen to everyone? NO.  Usually doesn't take to long but could be something as simple as USCIS forgot to include a document and now NVC needs it to complete and verify your case. Relax, take a deep breath. Trust the process. Soon you'll be together.

Hi, we’re the same. Our NOA2 date is May 28 too. We haven’t tried calling NVC, maybe we will just wait for the hardcopy then. :D

Do you know what to do once you get your case number?

Yeah we have everything finished.. d160, medical booked for early July.. just waiting on NVC. I don’t understand why they can’t just do it all electronically and take 3 days rather than weeks. Sighhhh.

I can't believe how quickly the process speeds up once the papers are at the NVC.

It seems like I was just awaiting the NOA2 in agony. Suddenly, we've scheduled our interview and pre-work almost complete.

Thank God…for everything. Special thanks to @Pedro0319  I truly thank God for you and your support!

Did you get a Packet 3 letter from the Embassy with all their requirements for the interview?

Lot of applications went In transit on Tuesday so I guess we might have to wait week or two... :(

Hello visajourney people. I have a silly question here. I believe my fiancée and I have jumped the gun a little bit. This is our unique situation. Our K-1 case will be handled by U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

We got our NOA2 petition accepted on May 16th 2018. It was then forwarded to NVC, I called NVC on June 8th 2018 and they did give me my Invoice ID and Case number. It just so happens that June 8th was the receive date at NVC as well.

We have went ahead and filled out the DS-160 form to get ahead of the game, but have not signed and sent it off yet.

My questions are, roughly how long does it take for NVC to process K1 applications??

Is it okay for us to complete and sign the DS-160 form and pay the fee. Or should we just wait until we receive the letter stating to fill out the online forms and set interview dates???

Interview will be at Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Thanks guys!!!

You can complete the DS-160 once your file is at NVC. Most wait till they get their case number and others wait till it says "ready" as it has arrived at the Embassy and is ready for scheduling of the interview. All the above answers are correct. Choose which your most comfortable with.

Because it's a new system and they are phasing all the Embassy's in over a period of time. This is smart IT procedure.

So most of you may or may not know, NVC sent our case to London instead of Islamabad. And while it was at NVC for 12 days, my fiance and i emailed several inquiries and literally the day after it went into transit, NVC replied one of our inquiries and let us know that they have forwarded the case

Today, i received another reply to the same inquiry i made again within the 12 days our case was sitting still at NVC. The reply was similar but the last paragraph states,

"The correspondence submitted is currently under review. An appropriate action will be taken once this review has been completed"

What does this mean?

I called NVC to ask..he had no idea and stated the obvious that the files are no longer here and sent to London and the transfer has to be done via embassies.

Anyone???

We received an email. Is that email considered "packet 3"?

If not, then no.

Hello...my fiance is Canadian, but she was born in Ethiopia. She is not Ethiopian though, she is Eritrean and it is impossible for someone from Eritrea to get any official documents from Ethiopia. For those who don't follow East African politics, these two countries has been at odds for the last two decades and had a brutal kinda WWI (first world war) conventional war from 1997 to 2000. Our case is at NVC now and will be "Ready", finger crossed, next week. Any advice on how to handle birth certificate deficiency with the embassy for her interview. Thanks!
