I feel like any of us wouldn't fall within the category of not being "responsible" enough like you mentioned. All of us have been responsible enough to make it to our 2nd approval status with putting together the paperwork appropriately. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't ever point out a person's behavior of research. Not a lot of people have all day to sit on VJ and watch different scenarios or research where to find the proper documentation. To point it out just calls for bad vibes and I don't think anybody has time for that after the what the waiting period can do to a persons mentality

We'll just leave it that we will agree that we disagree. Thanks for your thoughts.

There are two things you can do, you can correct it at your Interview. Co's make corrections all the time or you can keep at USCIS and NVC but since you have a case number I think your best bet is the Embassy. One more thought, when your case goes to "ready" at the Embassy then call the Embassy and ask. Here is the number if you don't have it

U.S. Embassy Zagreb
Ulica Thomasa Jeffersona 2
10010 Zagreb
Croatia
Telephone: 385-1-661-2200

Thank you.  But the weird thing is that they already did correct my name, I think they did it last Friday, before my case number was even assigned. I'm just so baffled as to why they sent me an email today, 4 days after my case number was assigned, saying "we don't have a record of your petition, call USCIS to find out what happened". I guess I just have to ignore this email and assume that everything is ok, because obviously my petition DID reach NVC

Some things just can't be explained. You're going to be alright. Keep moving forward. The end is in sight.

The petitioner completes the I-134 and the co-sponsor completes the I-864. As long as the co-sponsor has sufficient income and/or assets and is willing to sign Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, there are very few additional requirements.

Whoops, apologies for my incorrect reply earlier. I sent my affidavit and my co-sponsor’s affidavit to my fiancé a long time ago so I had forgotten if the two forms are different. 😳

The are one in the same but the 864 is not used during the interview process but by the co sponsor. The 864 for AOS after marriage is used by the petitioner and a cosponsor if one is needed.

Hmm...not sure if I am understanding this correctly...I don't meet income requirements to be the sole sponsor of my fiance's visa, so I asked my mom to co-sponsor and I asked her to fill out an I-134 (my fiance just confirmed to me that that's what he received from me, two I-134s). Was she supposed to submit an I-864 for us instead? Or can my fiance just go to his interview with the two I-134s and it'll be ok?

Hello visajourney people. I have a silly question here. I believe my fiancée and I have jumped the gun a little bit. This is our unique situation. Our K-1 case will be handled by U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

We got our NOA2 petition accepted on May 16th 2018. It was then forwarded to NVC, I called NVC on June 8th 2018 and they did give me my Invoice ID and Case number. It just so happens that June 8th was the receive date at NVC as well.

We have went ahead and filled out the DS-160 form to get ahead of the game, but have not signed and sent it off yet.

My questions are, roughly how long does it take for NVC to process K1 applications??

Is it okay for us to complete and sign the DS-160 form and pay the fee. Or should we just wait until we receive the letter stating to fill out the online forms and set interview dates???

Interview will be at Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Thanks guys!!!

It took them 10 days from the time they assigned the NVC number until the time it went from - At NVC to In-Transit then another 2 days for Ready at the Embassy. I've been told to wait until it says Ready to fill out the D-160 and send it. I just received the "READY" today, so my Fiance and I are going to complete the D-160 now, and she is going to submit it from Colombia and print-it out to take with her. We are then going to set-up the interview date and pay fees. Make sure the D-160 is submitted from Mexico.. Hope this is helpful. if any information is erroneous, hopefully, someone can chime in.. Good Luck!

I appreciate your quick response, Thanks for your info!! That's great, I'm happy for you two! We have just saved our DS160 and are just waiting to hit the sign button. We figured to go ahead and fill it out completely and then just wait till the appropriate time to SIGN. I will make sure she does sign and submit it IN MEXICO.

Your welcome and good luck. This has been a long process. I filed for the k1 visa in July of last year.
