Early last week, before I was given an NVC case number, I wrote to NVC to have my last name corrected in their system. Three days ago I received my case number. Now this morning I received this email and it is freaking me out. Someone please reassure me that my case is okay and that this is just a weird NVC email fluke???

I would be as well!! Definitely keep me posted with how quickly you are able to get into the Medical and Interview booking time frame, I'm interested in what to anticipate as well for when my time were to come for my fiance.. CONGRATSSSSSSSSS

Did you guys fill out the DS-160 yet? As soon as you got the NVC Case number or how did you go about it? I want to wait until we have his interview booked until I get the letter from my employer and such in order to make sure everything is as recent as they want.

That would be great! From what I understand on here, once you get packet 3 emailed I think you can schedule both medical and interview? That's just assuming of course from what the consulate review on here states. I'm anxious to here though so keep me posted! :D :D :D :D

I have and many others have talked about what's next for the UK. I wish people would follow along on the thread and read not only their Embassy but general information that does help. I personally have posted just the information your asking for. Do some research on your own. Good golly!

Really mate thanks for your ever so helpful reply. that was completely pointless.. Im getting fed up with people like you on these forums where they have comment on people asking genuine questions... how about you dont reply if you have nothing of use or helpful to say. Some people have jobs and do not have all day to search the forums for replies. This is a May Filers Group and we are all here to help each other your comment was pointless and served absolutely no purpose so in future if you dont like someone asking a question that you have already "Answered" dont reply and let someone who is helpful reply.

she told me they have received it yesterday but has not assigned a number yet. It will take max 8 weeks and I can call back whenever I like to check.

They tell everyone the same thing. They told me that too, called back the next day and I got my case number.

Agree as my comment said earlier, people should respond only if it's helpful, if you don't want to see everyone's comments or questions then turn the notifications off and sign in when you want to help someone who hasn't already completed this ALREADY stressful process.

Hey mate. You're too funny. So you are coming into a thread of people who are processing from Germany, Armenia, Spain, Philippines and other parts of the world and you think they are going to be able to give you answers as to what is next? They are here to get there arms around their Embassy instructions. Where would they have time to know what you need? There in lies my point. You see each Embassy is different, each has different requirements. Each has different medical expectations. For instance Embassy in the UK is really not worried about TB but a country that has a history of high concentration of TB cases such as the Philippines would be concerned and would require certain testing that other Embassy's do not require. So what you are required and what they are, are worlds apart. So when you say what's next I have to laugh out loud because you really don't understand what you are doing hence you hired a lawyer so HE will do the work for you and all you have to is sign your name. How easy is that.

Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done.

Harriet Beecher Stowe

Here I feel sorry for you so here is the answer to your question Mate. First common sense item would to be to go to your Embassy and search and see if they have information that will answer your question. Low and behold https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/tourism-visitor/required-documents/

Next make sure you complete your DS-160 and request your police certificate.  Now that you have your case number, you can call Knightsbridge to schedule your medical exam.  You’ll need to give them your case number when you schedule your appointment.  Once you have your exam scheduled, DS-160 completed and have everything else that you need for your interview, complete the Notification of Applicant Readiness Form and when your NVC case status changes to “In-transit” you can go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv to create an account and schedule an interview.  Make sure that you allow at least 5 working days between the date of your medical exam and the date of your interview or risk the results from the exam not arriving in time.  To schedule your interview go here https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/ or call here 442074867822

Yes, the co-sponsor must fill out the I-134 and provide supporting evidence.

The petitioner completes the I-134 and the co-sponsor completes the I-864. As long as the co-sponsor has sufficient income and/or assets and is willing to sign Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, there are very few additional requirements.

I agree research can be done but in the same sense, with all the different time zones of people in this forum, and some people working full time there isn't a lot of time to keep up with every single response..

We have all been there when you are excited and want a quick response as a natural reaction, if it frustrates you to see it then possibly don't respond and let someone else :)

I see your point but "the different time zones of people in this forum, and some people working full time" should not negate the fact that there is a lot of information available in this thread and you have to be responsible enough and use common sense. I find it so strange that those who ask that blanket question, haven't even taken the time to go to their Embassy's website and see if it can be answered there. Most times it can.

If one would spend some time going back, lets say 10 days and put the effort in to get caught up and then, if you don't understand something ask. But to come in and ask "what's next" is a little presumptuous. A "what's next" questions is not that easy to answer because there are different areas of VJ and the web that will answer the questions and now he is depending on the members here to answer his questions. So do you know what's next for processing in the UK? That's part of my point.

I feel like any of us wouldn't fall within the category of not being "responsible" enough like you mentioned. All of us have been responsible enough to make it to our 2nd approval status with putting together the paperwork appropriately. Just my opinion, but I wouldn't ever point out a person's behavior of research. Not a lot of people have all day to sit on VJ and watch different scenarios or research where to find the proper documentation. To point it out just calls for bad vibes and I don't think anybody has time for that after the what the waiting period can do to a persons mentality

There are two things you can do, you can correct it at your Interview. Co's make corrections all the time or you can keep at USCIS and NVC but since you have a case number I think your best bet is the Embassy. One more thought, when your case goes to "ready" at the Embassy then call the Embassy and ask. Here is the number if you don't have it
