I just got my NVC Case# today. Did you wait for your status to be "Ready" until scheduling interview or did you just schedule it as soon as your got your case#? I know you got your case# this week which is why i'm asking.

Each Embassy is different. Read up on what is needed for Hungary here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EomCOHn_X19GLLRZ8vvCrc4ERVaGyNl_/view?usp=sharing

Sorry, I don't have an English version and the copy I have is not perfect. If you get a P3 from your embassy and you can scan and email it to me I would appreciate it. I help others long after you are gone with their process and it helps to have this information to share. Just PM me when you have a better document and I will share my email address with you. Thanks.

Just to clarify, if I fill it out for her and i'm in the states I can still submit it? Or when you say "it's being done in the country where the interview will take place," do you mean the computer she is actually filling it out on needs to be in that country, or rather just that country is selected when filling out the DS-160?

The instructions state that the beneficiary is the one to submit because they are the ones who will take the oath at the interview in front of the CO. Like @Dave_and_Jessa stated that you can do it and then save it but have her open it and read over that everything there is correct because most of it relates to her. Spelling and truthfulness should be your goal. Then when she finds it to be correct then she can hit the submit button. She will need to print off a couple of the confirmation page (it will have the bar code embossed) one to submit at the interview and the other for any other occasions she may need it for.

Case at NVC since May 29th.  Case number assigned the next day.... 10 days later.. still at NVC, what is taking so long to be sent off to the embassy?

They send them in batches on different days. Do you have information on what to do next once you have your case number?

Do we know more or less the day of the week packages leave NVC? I am in the same situation, since May 30th.

They do both. From the "old way" where they would send what was scanned and then send paper records. Now they are transiting to all scanned electronic files but they not yet fully embrace that process. I expect in a few more months everything will be electronic if not sooner.

I got my NVC case number a couple of weeks ago and status still shows "At NVC". What should I be doing to prepare? Can I submit the DS-160 right now or should I wait until it says ready? What other things can I do now? Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been reading conflicting information.

Here are the K-1instructions for processing your visa through Vietnam https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jdCPXg9_vLnAfKJZ5gfPMW4-ST0RbRUh/view?usp=sharing

There is an active sub-forum for Vietnam found here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/136-vietnam/ This where others that are processing a visa from Vietnam meet and help each other as that entire group is or has processed at the Embassy in Vietnam. Those that are here are trying to get there arms around their process and more than likely can't answer your specific questions, as each Embassy's process can be and in most cases are different from yours.

My case is still at the NVC and it has been 16 days since I got my case number is this normal? I am starting to worry.

Yes that is normal. It's what everyone is reporting here in this thread. It can take 2-4 weeks before your Embassy will confirm that receipt of your case and change your status to 'ready'. More Patience.

Is it possible that just like USCIS, the site shows at NVC when in reality it is in transit? Or does the NVC have a better track record of case status accuracy?

Still waiting for our NVC number.  At least from my experience the time to speak to someone at the NVC is a lot quicker than speaking with USCIS and they are always friendly.

NOA2 Notice date was 19/05/18  so hopefully we should get our NVC number either this week or next or by the very latest end of this month.

Good luck everyone the hard part is over with this next stage is the easy part  :)
