Yes normal. And no, do not follow any of those instructions. They are generic and don't apply to K1, as usual.

lol that was what I was trying to explain to my fiancee last week... would have avoided headaches and an argument lol

@EllyNelly that’s exciting how long did it take for you to receive your case number from NVC.

I hear that!!!! I am a bit overboard with the nerves and stress while my fiancé is just so happy and excited..lol. I am the kind of person who likes to control everything and be in charge... not a good quality for a process like this where we do not get to decide the outcome and I am not the one being interviewed... I have been reminded many times that this is in God's hands and I have to find comfort in that. Good luck hon, i can't wait to see a happy ending to this process for you!!!

Not sure if this is embassy specific, and I know the wet signature debate has been addressed many times in these forums and there was a change that says scanned is accepted... does that apply to the I-134 Affidavit of Support? does the signature need to be wet or will scanned be accepted?

i am the same way lol... we did have a tiff over the directions because he was following the general nvc website instead of embassy instructions.

It is probably something to chuckle about in hindsight, but I'm sure that was incredibly stressful for you both (It's always nice to be the one that was right though! :P)

Wet signature then it can be scanned and emailed to the beneficiary for printing for the interview. That rule of thumb is for every document that you are signing now. Other documents like BC, divorce etc. should be original with a copy in the event that the CO would like to have a copy. BC's they sometimes like the original. Up to the CO and Embassy.

when you say documents like birth cert... do you mean the bc of the beneficiary? I was planning on having him take a copy of my bc to his interview but he can take his original plus a copy of his to the interview... correct? Keeping in mind yes, this is all embassy specific... but in general...?

Thank you. I already did the DS-160 and got the number for it. Do I just need to wait for it to say ready to make the medical and interview? The country is Bosnia.

The embassy will email the packet 3. Interview dates are available the following week if you have all the documents that were requested in packet 3. You can reschedule or cancel appointments based on your need but not more than 2 times without penalty.  So based on this information I would wait till you have your P3 but, you still can gather certain items. Here is a link but DO NOT send the information back to NVC keep them for the interview. Once you have your case number you will no longer have any need for NVC. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html

I wish I could be of more help but I am not well versed in Bosnia visa process.  Once you receive the P3 could you make a copy and email it to me so I can use it in the future when someone else is looking for direction on what to do next. PM me when you have it and I will give you my email address. Thanks.

They will need BC and marriage and divorce (if either of you were previously married/divorced) for both of you. USC can submit a copy but beneficiary needs to present original and copy at the time of the interview.

Hi All!

I received my NOA2 5/29, but my official mailed letter stated it was approved 5/25. I would like to start calling NVC this week in order to get case # updates.

In the meantime, what is the best recommendations on the next steps? I have my fiance collecting his police certificate, birth certificate with translation, immunization records, and pictures printed.

Do we just wait to get the case number in order to start the DS160, and then wait for packet 3 from the consulate in order to book medical and interview?

On my end as the USC, I just need to start filling out the Affidavit of Support form with last years tax return? I would like to make sure we have as much prepared as possible to get the documents mailed back very shortly after receiving them for the consulate. He is from Spain for any fellow Spanish visa members!

It's your lucky day as I have the P3 letter for Spain here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UsM5rUke5AZ3kH8HQf7SNRSxhtHiqzAS/view?usp=sharing

This will be your bible of what needs to be done. Everything can be sent via email and your beneficiary can print it out on their end for the interview.

Exciting!! How many pics and different types of proof of the relationship is he bringing? My fiance just printed around 30 different pics ha and I wonder if it's a bit too much

I think he has like 8 pics. But i email our chats and he screen shotted the call logs from whatsapp and from regular phone calls I had more pics but didnt send in time before he travelled to Lagos

8-12 pictures of the two of you together and with her family are great for the evidence. Just copy them to a word document, 4 to a page, and print them off using a good printer. I have a laser printer and they come out look very good for the interview. Caution, be sure none of the pictures can possibly be interpret as a "wedding celebration" as we have seen some folks get denied because the CO thought they were of a wedding ceremony. When that happens there is no explanation that you can give because once the decision is made IT'S MADE.
