Not sure what the options are now but three weeks ago i called and chose 1 and then 2 and got my NVC#. Keep in mind K1 is a non immigrant Visa, not an immigrant one.

Not at NVC standards. It is processed as immigrant visa till it gets issued, so you don’t have to call the nonimmirant line.

I'm referring to after you've already called the 0700 number.

Yeah me too, they don’t really care if you just continue with the immigrant section or not. I’ve got mine from IV.

They are seeking information for "relatives", people you share a common bond with like parents, cousins, sisters, brother blah blah. BUT your Fiancée is not a relative because you are not legally married as of today, when filing the DS-160.

There trying to figure out if you are forming a "Gang" to attack the US. :jest:

Thank you God bless you @Greenbaum  @Naeswas tell me am sharing what I don't know.

If you choose finacee as your relative you are I soup I guess because they are trying to know if you are trying to get married to your brother or sister for you to come to the state.

According to the definition your relative is your brothers and sisters living abroad.

Your finacee is not your relative.....so none is the answer.

Yea..but the US government requires you to answer it a certain way and fiance falls under as a relative.. related by marriage eventually. And Relative as a noun by definition means "a person connected by blood or marriage"

Is better to put none even my brother who got married to an American even though they are not husband and wife he put none in there.....

They will question your finacee if he's is related to you.

And by the way you already have your finacee information in there.....so the question is logical.

With all due respect, your explanation on how to anserr this question will confuse and misguide people. I totally get what your saying but the ds 160 provides an explanation and the answer is fiance to that question because the relationship will eventually be related--connected by marriage.

Well apparently you really don’t know what you’re talking about under immigration purposes. Just saying a spouse is also an immediate relative. They are asking fiance to know if someone is traveling to us (without k1 too as ds-160 is not only for k1) and if there are possible ties.

Try reading when answering ds-160. Because answering none is the wrong answer.

there is a whole explanation including fiancé on the form itself and you can actually see “fiance” is in the pull down menu once you chose yes. But please go on and chose none, just don’t give wrong info here.

Looking at this DS-160... On page 13 there is a question: Do you have any immediate relatives, not including? Should I answer yes or no to this question? Like are they talking about my fiancée in States or that do I have someone in my home country?

What's the rest of the question? I'm trying to remember what I put for that. I think I put none....so many different answers here on what we were supposed to put.

The best answer is "yes" then in the dropdown choose "fiance". Answering it any other way will not cause any problems at your interview.

I got my NVC # last Monday and my case is still at the NVC does anyone know why?

Mine sat "at NVC" for a week too. I wouldn't worry about it. Trust it will change to "in transit" soon and if you're lucky (and your embassy is electronic processing) it will only take a day to become "ready" and a few days if they courier it to your embassy.
