It all depends on your Embassy. For the Philippines once you have your case number there is no need to wait. They can complete the DS-160, pay the MRV payment, schedule their interview, complete CFO and medical.  By the time they finish all this the case is already at the Embassy waiting for the interview. By not waiting you can shave off a month of waiting for USCIS/NVC getting their work done.

 

Check with your Embassy instructions or contact others who are going through in your country.

yep! I waited until the embassy received my petition from NVC and it said "Ready" on the nvc tracking site

Not knowing what Embassy you are processing through prevents us from responding to any of your questions. If you look the others here they have a flag for their country so it makes it easy for us to reply.

My fiance's current address at the time of filing the petition was UK .. seriously pissed off. And also their disregard to rectify this misktake further pisses me off. The case id was created today and it's at NVC.. why can't they fix this.

Any advice will be helpful.

my fiancee was able to schedule and attend her medical exam in Dublin without the NVC case number,.  they asked for case id and in parenthesis it said Alien number which was on the NOA2 so we replied to it with the Alien number from the NOA2.  Did we do anything incorrectly?  She already attended and they said the results will be ready in a week or two.

This is so helpful to hear! How far out were available appointments when she called? My fiancé needs to go to the medical but we weren’t totally sure if we had to wait. Is it still only on Wednesdays?

If that is all they ask for and you gave them the A# then you should be good to go.

I think she had about a two week wait for June 6th but then they called with a cancellation for May 30th.  She was able to schedule the appointment by phone and then they emailed her a questionnaire to fill out and email them back.

Thanks for your advice. My fiance and i both emailed nvcexpedite@state.gov and explained everything. Hopefully we will hear something back. At least the good thing is i found out day they entered us into the system so the case is still at NVC

U have to make sure you enter all information properly before clicking submit.

Has he already done medical?
Where is he doing it? Because to do medical, you need to show proof of booked appt and if he does medical in Lagos, he won't get it back before 2 FULL weeks
Which means if he goes to this interview next week without medical, y'all risk being in AP

NVC has our case and case number as of the 31st! SO a few questions that I havent been able to find an answer to on the thread

 

1) It has not yet been sent to the embassy but is it alright to complete the DS-160 or should he just save it until its ready in London and THEN submit?

 

2) From what I understand the medical dates are backed up to the last day of June if not July? Any chance this might change and is it absolutely necessary to wait for the medical to do the interview?

 

3) How can we check the available interview dates? DO we absolutely have to wait until our case is ready before we can even LOOK at dates?

 

4) Will the embassy send packet 3 to my fiance or does he have to request it? Also his address has changed since we filed the K-1. Will this affect his receipt of packet 3 and also what about his passport from the medical? Will he be able to specify the address it will be sent back to?

Quick question for anyone... I have my number from NVC... On the CEAC website it says that it still is at NVC. Is that site updated automatically or should I call and ask to see if they have sent the packet to the embassy? Just want to make sure I am informed... Thanks
