Just called NVC and tried to ask if the have received my case or not. They were asking my fiance name, date of birth, and my name. But the guy just told me my name is not the same as they have on file. What should I do ?

Wondering if anyone knows--Would my fiance be permitted to enter the US with his tourist visa even after he receives his K-1, just to have a short visit and then go back home before his permanent move?

The same thing happened to me just last week!! Somehow they had my petition in their system with my maiden name (which hasn't been my legal last name for over 20 years)! They told me to email them with the updates/changes, so I did. But it still hasn't been fixed; when I called today to see if I have a case number yet, I was told that I'm still in their system under my maiden name.

Just past 3 weeks waiting for our case to arrive at the NVC.. was hoping this part of the journey would be on the quicker side of things after over 7 months of waiting for NOA2..

No. Because if his K1 visa has been issued the B2 visa will be void.

But I guess eventually we will get the actual letter right ? Maybe we should wait then ?

Dont worry. It took me 4 weeks. It will get there.  The hard part is over

This is a good question. I dont have the answer but not sure any one on VJ has tried to enter US after NOA2 before K1 visa. A lot of ppl entered while waiting for NOA2.

The thing is if you call and ask the customs they probably will tell you an official answer something like with B2 visa you are not guaranteed to enter...

So maybe you can post this question in a post called ‘yes you can visit’ and see if anyone can share their experience.

I got a good news for you.

I found someone went to US after NOA2 and before K1.

She did entered US successfully! I asked her, and she replied. Hope it helps.

I went to visit my fiancee in US last weekend using B2 visa after I have received the NOA2. Not sure about the actual K1 visa situation then.

I've wondered this myself... do they have a record of how many times we've called in?  Do they get annoyed and lie to us to troll us?
