A bit strange, but does anyone else miss the daily scans for the I-129F?

Just called now and our case has been both received and case number assigned today

NOA 5/9/18

NVC Received 5/30/18

I would like to say yes, but I had to wait 289 days for the NOA, so I like where we are right now!!!

Just that feeling of progress I suppose, this wait to NVC received has felt really long without the constant updates.

Definitely call back often, they did our case number in one day, hopefully everyone gets the same treatment

I am in the same boat here. My notice date is May 5th, and it hasn't reached yet. I think it will ..we just have to be patient. I called last night too..i am definitely calling again tonight.

For some of us it's taking a bit longer. The NVC customer service rep said that uscis sends over casea in bulks, when they reach a few tbousand..so it could be ours was not in the last transfer.. who knows lol

At this point, should I try to call USCIS to figure out whether my case is still in USCIS? Let's keep post if there is any updates.

Keep Calling.. There are probably so many people calling that they don't even remember from day to day that you called. I am May 10th and I call everyday..

Usually 2-3 weeks out from NOA2 one can began calling. It's best to call, if you can, at 7 am DST as you will get in on as few as one ring. Second, calling 2-3 times during the day is not going to get you there any faster, besides it ties up the phone lines for others who need to check on their case. Good luck.

Thanks!

Welcome to the NOA2 thread. Glad you found others who share your attainment.

I'd like direct you to a website that was created by one of the "old timers" here on VJ and specifically who adds advice over in the sub-forum for the Philippines. Both links are below. If you follow the website each step of the way on your progress in getting your visa from USEM, it will help you with the correct forms, where to go, when to do it or who to call. The best thing it's free to use. Be sure to hop on over to the sub-forum for the Philippines where others like you are asking questions of those who are processing at USEM. Good luck.

If my POE is lets say October 22, we can get married until January 22 right?

Just wanted to double check cause we trying to prolong the wedding hehe

Yes and no. It all depends on your visa validity date (1), your POE date (2) and USCIS (3). I'll explain.

1. You have to be on US soil by the expiration date of your visa which is tied to your medical date (most times). So the closer your medical is to your interview the better.

2. You are required by the K-1 visa to marry and file your AOS within the 90 day period. (Clock starts ticking at POE entrance)

3. If you don't file within the 90 days, you are technically out of status and could be deported. BUT, we rarely see this happening especially to those who marry but fail to submit their AOS package until some time after. USCIS will adjudicate your case if it's tardy with no repercussions but you will have to explain why you are tardy. Most who are late in filing is because of not have the finances to file within the 90 day period.

I hope this helps in your decision.

Can anyone help me? I got a new job this month but they said my name is not in the hr system right now to get an employee verification letter I would have to wait 2-3 paychecks for that info to update. Can I just use my job offer letter and my paystub as verification?

Can your supervisor, on company letterhead, give you a letter stating your hire date, you position and your salary? That would fix your situation. In worse case, yes you should use the job offer and paystubs. I'm assuming your using this for the I-134. Right?

Go to the top of this page. In the blue ribbon select "forums" and scroll about 3/4 of the way down the page. One other helpful area is "portals". Search for your country from portals and you will get information about your Embassy and the process.

You can but I doubt you will receive the P3 until they are notified with your case being in house. Maybe the following will kickstart the gathering of the necessary documents for your interview.

https://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf

Fiance/Fiancee visas (K1s, K3s)

If your K1 or K3 petition has been approved by the Department of Homeland Security and you have received notification from the National Visa Center that your petition is on its way to post, you should download and complete the following application. The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will contact you when your petition has arrived at post so that you may schedule your appointment. If you have questions, you may e-mailLagosIV@state.gov. [Click to open "Interview Preparatory Packet (K1, K3)"PDF 539KB] Also, please review the pamphlet “Information on the Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the United States and Facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa.”  (PDF 53KB)
