Yes

At least that's what happens in the Kenyan embassy.

I think, it's just Kenyan Embassy.

Packet 3 is just a list of instructions and documents needed for Interview (eg. US Embassy, Nigeria).

we all got the same i think and if you read this its clear on it that you could have already schedule the interview by yourself and if you do so  then prepare your document as directed an apprear at the embassy on the date you have scheduled. unless i'm reading this notice in the picture in the bad way

I've already advised him.

The highlight above is a protocol. An August Filer just had her Interview today and she was Approved. Before her schedule, she waited for the embassy to send an email but nothing came in. I advised her to send an email to them,  pay her visa fee, schedule interview and attend her interview with the required documents. After 1 week of doing that, she received the email she waited so long for.

We spoke this afternoon immediately she left the embassy after her interview (she has been approved).

Normally, the embassy sends Packet to Applicants immediately status reads 'Ready', but now if you relax waiting for them, you may stay for extra 3 months without hearing from them.

You have control over your case, move forward, pray and everything works out well for you.

My fiancé has two last names (father last name followed by mother last name). My original submission only included his father's last name. I sent a letter requesting that his mother's last name be added. Based on the NOA2, the second name was not added.

Should I notify the NVC or just make sure the DS160 is completed properly?

Residence in the United states? for all the forms to be filed at once it is around $1225 USD (adjustment of status, Employment Authorization Document, and Advance Parole for international travel) The lawyer is probably saying that to keep you as a client. I know plenty of people that did it without a lawyer.

I think by residency she meant the green card and all the rest! I think the same, but she scared me by saying a lot of people got denied. I don’t think it’s true.

lol yea it is not true. Throughout this whole process I can say the easies(but most confusing) is this whole embassy nvc process lol... this forum helped me a lot. As far as the AOS stage I really do think you can do it alone. The lawyer is definitely using a scare tactic. If that were the case... I would be using my immigration lawyer relatives who would surely charge me lol

Just an update for Togo. @ChuAni I emailed the embassy like you said Friday and today they sent me an email saying my fiance could come to the embassy on Thursday to pick up his appointment letter and other information/instructions. He was out of the country this weekend and just arrived back so tomorrow he will file the DS-160 and then go to the embassy Thursday.
