Wait for NVC.

*****You can start filling it, YES

DS160's filling instructions are embassy specific. Follow YOUR embassy's instructions ONLY.

Hence the advice of waiting for NVC........ I'd prefer to wait it out

Me too!

And investigate what my own embassy's requirements are for when you need to submit the DS160/or bring it in some cases.

I have read on the forum that some embassy's don't send out a packet 3 and 4 and your are on your own. I tried calling the Embassy in Togo today to find out if we could get the packet my email or if my fiance could pick it up and they didn't act like they understood my question and told me to send an email. I sent the email and received and automatically generated email that says it could take 3-5 business days for a reply. In looking at the website for the Togo embassy i don't really see anything regarding sending more information. Has anyone else had experience with this??

I believe @jean baptiste is also from Togo and is in the April NOA2 to NVC batch... you could try asking him!

the embassy is not sharing nothing specific so we don't know if they'll contact via phone call, email? we don't know. see that's what makes it hard i mean when you don't have the information in order to know to expect

This is a Thailand specific question.  My fiance got a  Letter of Status Certification showing she is single and able to marry.  It expires after 180 days.  We submitted it with our application and of course got approved to this point.  Does she need to get another certification or is the one she has sufficient?

(Not from Thailand but as this is also a document related question)

I would say yes.

if a document any document that have the possibility of status change that expires you get a new one.

if you are going to take it to the interview as a requirement than you need one.

if it is not a requirement and you just put that as information and you won’t take anything with you related to this tot he interview; then you don’t need one.

my country has a similar paper that shows our status together with birth certificate, as it is a requirement from the embassy, I need new one if it expires. Because marital status can change.

According to the Thai Embassy there is no mention of an expiration:

MARITAL STATUS CERTIFICATE(S) (also known as the Single Status Certificate):  All fiancé(e) K1 visa applicants should submit a marital status certificate.  Obtainable at the local district office (Thai Amphur), it should state that the local district office completed a review of the Family Registration Database.

Not much info on this issue with Togo. Some have said months before they were scheduled.

Hi guys!

My NOA2 is dated May 11. Do I fill out the DS-160 form now or do I wait until I receive a case # from NVC?

Any time from now till the day before your interview you must complete the DS-160. There is no wrong answer if others state to complete it sometime between those times.
