No, you are surely confused (or they are). The IMMIGRANT status will not change after the interview (sorry I got it backwards). It should stay "ready" forever.

You are only going to check your status on the non-immigrant link after the interview using your DS160 Confirmation #. It will fluctuate from various statuses including "AP" and "Issued" and can even go back to "AP" after it states "Issued" as different departments have to process it.

WHAT THEY ARE REFERRING TO IS THIS so dont freak out because you are misunderstanding what these other ppl have told you...

Your I129F is a non immigrant Visa with immigrant intent.

It is considered a non immigrant Visa from its point at USCIS until it leaves the NVC.

THEN it becomes an Immigrant Visa while it is at the embassy.

Then once you have completed the interview it goes back to being a non immigrant Visa.

I tried using DS160 to check.

It's showing ' No status' now.

I have talked to an applicant who interviewed this week.

Her status becomes 'Application Received' with Non-Immigrant now.

I never know we should us DS160 confirmation number to check the status tho....

Do you know how to use this website?

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

This is what I have been referring to for the last 30 minutes (and I thought you were too🤯).

You select "immigrant" from the drop down menu and input your NVC number. This is only effective for when you are tracking the status from NVC to the embassy so because your petition is already AT your embassy you DO NOT USE THE "IMMIGRANT" OPTION anymore.

Now that you have had your interview, you will now choose "Non-Immigrant" from the drop down menu, put your DS160 confirmation number in the box, choose your embassy country and input the passcode of letters and numbers.

This is where you and these other ppl you have been talking about will now see your status change as your Visa crosses the appropriate desks at your embassy for processing as it heads to you (for Visa on hand).

I have followed exactly what you have written....

And it is 'No status' now.

Have you actually used the nonimmigrant link with your DS160 before though to check your status after your interview?

How did you know that your Visa had the Administrative Processing status of you hadnt used the link before?

'Administrative Processing' status is under the 'Immigrant Visa' option and I input the case number given by NVC.

If I choose 'Non-Immigrant' and input the DS160 number, then it is 'No Status'.

That is the weirdest thing I have heard in a long time. But if I think about it, could be explained in theory but you may have just blown me out a the water and made me realize something. Sorry but I'm not going to try to explain tonight. My fingers are tired after trying to explain all of that, lol.

So you're still hoping for movement on the non immigrant link. Even if the status doesn't change watch the dates below the status for movement.

6 days is still reasonable. Don't forget that.

And remove the word "bad" in conjunction with Administrative Processing. It's unnecessary.

Thanks for your reply.

All I can do is wait.

I have already sent them two emails and heard nothing back yet.

Fiance just had his approved interview this week Tuesday and our status went as followed: Initial Page to enter in your NVC Case number states Immigration Visa when you enter in your ID and Capthca Code. The statuses I saw over the past 3 days were on the first day "Application  Received" and then as of today "Issued" but on that popup where it shows the status it shows NONIMMIGRANT VISA status ISSUED.

So the front end page shows immigration visa but once the VISA is in Issued status it automatically shows NonImmigrant visa without me  having any option to manually select that. I think sometimes (almost all the time) we overanalyze the process and every detail so much when in the end everything is fine.

Thank you! Trust me I have been in that position where people that received there status in READY after me had their Packet 3 mailed before me and it always gets in your head. You are so close now, a matter of days. Try to remind yourself and I wouldn't worry until possibly a week were to pass more where it's the same. I think next week you will be set! Intuition feeling! 😁

Comments like what you wrote are exactly why I wish I would never comment in VJ. I think this site has a lot of information and a handful of encouraging people but I as well think this site has a lot of negativity, over analytical members, or criticizing comments as well which add to the reason why people worry more than they should in this process.

I wrote exactly as I saw it. Moving along.

Your friend was very confused on how to use the CEAC website. I helped them out by sharing my knowledge. If you look, I took alot of time and effort in my explanation.

This forum does have a lot of useful information however it does also contain misinformation. We should all be wary of that and try to promote providing information that will not confuse others or send them down a path of worry. We are all on the same journey.

And yes, moving on.
