So you're going to fax the vaccination records to Knightsbridge right? Or he can just get the copy of the vaccination records that day and email it himself to Knightsbridge! But if he can get an appointment before the medical at his GP, that would be the quickest and easiest way!

Remember to leave at least 7 working days between the medical and the interview.

I never received any Packet 3 or 4, and I just went to the US Embassy today to have my interview and I was approved. The only thing I think your fiance will receive in the post is the letter from NVC

Has your fiance now scheduled both medical and interview?

Congrats!!! He left  12 days between his medical and his interview! His medical is next Saturday and his interview is Aug 2nd! Hopefully gives him enough time to have his doctor fax his shots that he needed to knightsbridge before the interview. He should be golden! Keep me posted on how long it takes for them to send back your passport!

My case is currently in transit and wanted to see what appointments are available. Has anyone encountered a no appointments available at the embassy when you're about to pay for the visa? Also, K1 is considered an immigrant visa correct?

So my case is now in Ready state.  I've emailed the embassy so they can send me the packet with instructions.  I went in to check appointment availability out of curiosity. Has anyone encountered this before? I know it all depends on the embassy and country.  I wonder if appointments will open up once the embassy has fully processed the case.  Or if there are no appointments, how far out would the next ones be? Thoughts anyone?

That could very likely be the reason, as you know that changes from country to country and embassy knows what/when to send you the packet. Seat back, grab a beer/coffee or whatever you like best and turn netflix on. ;)

Did you declare you received permission to schedule the appointment on the AIS website without receiving P4?) Has anyone encountered this before? Yes (Canada).I know it all depends on the embassy and country. (Yes, entirely. You should pose this same question in your country's subforum.) I wonder if appointments will open up once the embassy has fully processed the case. (Appointments in my country open up during the last week of the month for the second month out, ie at the end of July, Sept appointments will open up). Or if there are no appointments, how far out would the next ones be? Thoughts anyone?

Thank you for your answers.  One other question, I've heard of people getting earlier appointments if someone cancels.  Is it the same process? Do you ask the embassy to give you the earlier appointment?

You dont ask anything to the embassy. If there is any appt cancelled you should be able to see through the same site you payed the fee. Open schedules will show there and you should be able to see and schedule. Make sure you look couple times a day, specially at night.

Same process as in yes you go into the AIS website, and see if there are earlier ones. Be careful as you will lose your original appointment and may get stuck with a later one. Do you ask the embassy to give you the earlier appointment? No. All done through AIS and I'm guessing your country's is too if you are accessing the AIS website.
