Hello Everyone,

I have been a long time lurker here. My NOA2 was 5/10/18 . NVC recieved my case on 5/30/18, NVC # assigned 5/31/18. I then waited "AT NVC" status until 6/13/18. I received the instruction email from NVC on 6/14/18 and on that same day I sent the DS-160, scheduled biometrics (VAC) [6/18/18] and Interview [7/12/18]. Today my fiance was supposed to pick up the results of his medical but was advised that he needed to go back to the consulates medical facility and pay an additional $500 pesos (RD$) but was not informed as to why. I have been told by other family memeber who are in this process as well that they are now giving some sort of medication (pill) I am not sure what it is for but I will give an update on Thurdays after my fiance goes in a verifies this information. With this being said I HIGHLY ADVISE at least those in the Dominican Republic, DO NOT SCHEDULE INTERVIEW without atleast 3 weeks time from the medical exam. There isnt too much information on Santo Domingo Embassy but here's some info.

There is no packet 3 only a packet 4 which may not ever arrive.

You will need the letter NVC emails with case number (SDO2018******) for the medical and the DS-160 confirmation page with barcode for VAC biometrics appointment.

The medical exam does not require an appointment but it is advised to be there as early as possible as they only see a limited amount of patients per day (plan to be there by 6 am and dont expect to leave before 12pm)

You should schedule the biometrics appointment for the same day as the medical but for the afternoon (after 1 pm)  as both locations are near each other especially for those who do not live in Santo Domingo (only 1 trip = 1 travel cost).

After the case is in READY status in the embassy you have to schedule your own interview date and time ( dates are available as soon as the next day! but remember give yourself time to receive medical exam back as it is mailed to a pick up location of your choice).

I have read that the petitioner is not required to attend the interview but it is recommended. Those people who's fiance's/Spouse's do not attend the interview get asked many more questions than those who are.

I will also provide a review of the interview in about 2 weeks.

Feel free to message me with any questions, Im more than glad to help.

Hello Great thanks so much to offer you for help and some advice!

So I’m worry I’m from Panama and I’m going to change of address so to be honest here in Panama don’t work very good the mail thing! So I would like to know after the NOA2 and the NVC send the package to the embassy you need to wait for “instructions “ which way they send it?! To me or my boyfriend in usa?!

And also should I submit the change address?!

One more thing I read people waiting for packages 3 and packages 4 what’s that mean?!

After the NOA2, your case will go to the NVC, after about 2 weeks, your case will get a new number assigned. Call them to obtain this number and provide them with your email address. Once the NVC sends the case to your embassy (on Tuesdays it seems to happen), you will be notified by e-mail.

You can also regularly check your status here with your new case number: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Dear Ma'am/Sir,

Good day! I wish to inquire regarding the submission of my DS-160 application for Fiancee visa. It was filled up by me. However  upon the submission of my  2x2 picture and the confirmation of my form was send by my Fiancee who is located in texas, since my internet is so slow and it always appers in my page "time up"  My question is will there be any baring on my upcoming interview? Do i need to re do my DS160? due to the IP Adress?.

Thank you so much! hope to hear a response with you soon.

on my case, the embassy will send an email to the petitioner to to have updated  address, email address, and telephone number of the beneficiary.

based on information from the petitioner, they will send  the instructions to beneficiary email about what needs to be prepared for the interview.

Thanks Sarac how's the interview appointment slots looks like in Pakistan do they have many slots available. Also as per your question regarding I-797 approval notice I was told to send the copy of the notice to my beneficiary not the original. Regards

Yea there are plenty of dates avaialble for both medical and interview.

Hi Sarac,

When was your NA02 approved the date? how long it took you to get your NVC number and how long it took the case to get to the embassy. Also I heard you can do DS-160 once you receive the case number and also can go ahead and pay the visa fee but for scheduling the medical and interview you have to wait until the embassy gets the file and show on the website its ready and get the instruction from the embassy? My fiancé is from Lahore where do you find the list of medical centers where they do medical for immigration. Sorry for long message I am just excited to find someone who are in the same boat country as me..Regards

I sent lagos consulate about packet 3 and they reply that they have received my petition but they are awaiting the hard copies

Thank you for your email.

According to our records, we have received the electronic file but we are yet to receive your physical file. Once we receive the physical case file we will contact regarding the next step in the process.

this is their reply after emailing them for packet 3.

So it will be sent both electronically and mail.

But who knows how long the physical file will take.

did we get an answer to this? could @ChuAni or @EllyNelly or someone else who might know if this looks like the email you got from the Lagos embassy and did you proceed or wait for them to get the physical file.

I received the same message from the embassy. I think it just means to wait for the embassy to finish processing our case, then they'll get back to us. I sent the email out a bit early and I'm sure my case wasn't ready yet when they responded.
