Hi everyone, some advice would be greatly appreciated please.

I’m a London beneficiary and we received our NOA2 on the 19th of May.

We then finally received our case number from the NVC on June 15th.

How long should we expect to wait for it to be at the embassy? They’re driving us nuts.... :(

London here also. Got our NOA2 on 21st of May and still don't even have a letter from NVC with case number. We called and they said the case arrived 8th June, and still we've not received anything. No one's been able to tell me how long their case was at the NVC before arriving at the embassy either :(

I-129F Submitted: 01 November 2017NOA1 Received: 03 November 2017NOA2 Received: 22 May 2018 | NVC Received: 08 June 2018 | Consulate Received: 06 July 2018 | Medical: 27 July 2018 | Interview: 10 August 2018 (APPROVED) | VISA in Hand: 22 August 2018 | POE: 28 September 2018 :joy:

Days between NOA1 until VISA in hand: 292

But we were told it should be shipped out either by the end of today or tomorrow!

that's comforting. just so you know, I guess it depends who you speak to. my case is "at NVC", when I called to book my medical yesterday she only asked if I had my case number, and my police certificate.

Thanks for your reply.

What do you mean by ' 3 more ahead'?

I am a bit confused. Could you please elaborate a bit?

Thanks.

Three more process's. 1. AOS 2. ROC and 3. Naturalization. All come with applying, waiting and the possibility of an interview. More opportunity for you to be "freaked out".

I won’t be freaked out I think as long as I am with my fiancé. I am more afraid that I can’t meet him soon.

Again, like I had stated in my original post, "we are our own worst enemy". You don't trust the process so you are "freaked out". The K-1 visa is one of the easiest visa's to get. The requirement is (besides what listed) to be a good citizen of both the USA (USC) and also the beneficiary's from their country, complete each step of the process and bam!! visa in hand. It's so simple but yet we make it hard on ourselves because we second guess what we're doing. Just follow the guides/instructions,, ask questions and do the right thing and you will have a non-freaked out moment. Trust the process and relax. Change your routine and you will have a better outcome.

Well, thanks for your reply.

But emotion is just emotion, I don’t tend to avoid them. As emotion are supposed to be expressed and experienced.

I don’t judge my own feelings. If I am freaked out, I am. Just let it be.  A lot of ppl are suffering and worried during the process. Plus I don’t think K1 is that easy...  I think it is tough for a lot of ppl.

It’s not merely about being a good citizen at both countries.  It’s more about luck now I would say.

Well I guess they are. I don't know if i should freak out just yet. Hey please have you paid the DS 260 fee? Do you think I can pay here in the US and send the receipt to my fiancee? Or she has to pay in Nigeria? Thanks again

The DS-260 fee is for CR-1's only which is a immigrant fee paid because they do not go through AOS like a K-1 does. Once they are approved for a visa and they land in the US appox. 2 weeks later they get a SSN card sent to them and then at the 30-60 day mark they receive their GC.

This is not your process as a K-1. The fee you pay is for the interview fee which is in the instructions I gave you earlier on how and where to pay. You must complete the DS-160 for the interview.

Just when I was rooting for NVC, my hopes were let down this morning :( I called them twice to see if they could let me know a timeframe of when my case will be sent to the consulate and both times I got the response "we don't know, there's no timeframe" Not even did they inform me of the possible "8 weeks" or that possibly soon phrase just the "we don't know" rough morning to say the least

but at least they didn't tell you it's under AP right? Just cheer up... it's still early though, they need time to work on the cases!!

So you booked your medical whilst still at NVC? Did NVC have to give you permission or is this what everyone does for london??

Think this is what we are all doing. My fiance called the NVC and got the LND case number. I was kind of holding off, but the appointments are getting booked up pretty quick, so I though eh screw it. They will e-mail me when it's in transit so this will provide me proof of my case number. I called yesterday, said I'd like to book an immigration medical if possible, she said okay, do you have your case number and police certificate? I said yes, and gave her the case number. My medical is now scheduled for 27th July.
