Then maybe it's because they can see more information about the case. But for me, they just tell me it is in AP.... And after a research on VJ, ppl could be stuck at nvc because of AP up to 8 weeks. I am freaked out now...

As I have stated before "we are our own worst enemy". We think things that may not be true and because we have those thoughts we feel that something is unfair or because it happened to someone else it will happen to me, which is not necessarily true. Take a deep breath and get off the computer and let the process work through. We have given other ways to move the "ball" down the field by contacting their congress person or the ombudsmen. Look back and you will see where I have posted the information with contact links. You really need to calm down as you have stated you are "freaked out now". Not good for a process like this and to think you will have 3 more ahead of this to look forward to.

Thanks for your reply.

What do you mean by ' 3 more ahead'?

I am a bit confused. Could you please elaborate a bit?

Thanks.

Hello everyone

I just got my NOA2 on the 19th but I have been reading this thread and wondering what everyone is talking about. I need help to understand what is going on with all these terminologies am not familiar with. Am worried about the next steps because I really have July to get things set up for when I leave for annual training (army reserve) in August for one month and God knows what I can get done from there. I was wondering if anyone could highlight the steps involved in this NVC part and if I have to send any packages to my fiancee in Nigeria or maybe even book her medical. Thanks for kind advices.

I called nvc several times in a day.....but there's one representative that will always tell me "your petition is ready to be sent to lagos in couple of days your petition will be sent to lagos just keep checking" and couple of days he's telling me started second Friday of this month till now.

But other representative will say is under addmistravite processing.so am just just just......don't even know what to say.

So sorry. I wonder it's all like that. Thanks for your response though. I guess I will wait another week to give them a call. I don't if can call them without having a case number yet.

Fiancé/Fiancée visas (K1s, K3s)

If your K1 or K3 petition has been approved by the Department of Homeland Security and you have received notification from the National Visa Center that your petition is on its way to post, you should download and complete the following application. The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will contact you when your petition has arrived at post so that you may schedule your appointment. If you have questions, you may e-mailLagosIV@state.gov. [Click to open "Interview Preparatory Packet (K1, K3)"PDF 539KB] Also, please review the pamphlet “Information on the Legal Rights Available to Immigrant Victims of Domestic Violence in the United States and Facts about Immigrating on a Marriage-Based Visa.”  (PDF 53KB) https://photos.state.gov/libraries/nigeria/487468/pdfs/Interview_Prep_Packet_K1-K3_SEP14.pdf

Here is a recent couple who just finished their visa interview. These are some of the questions that were asked as well as the documents that were checked. Follow the Embassy instructions as to what to bring for the interview. You'll need all those documents in the event they are asked for.

Embassy: Nigeria (🇳🇬)

Affidavit of Support

Pictures

Tax Returns (returned after the Interview)

Questions:

1) Name of your Fiancé

2) How did you two meet?

3) Who was he visiting? ***Vacation

4) How did you two become romantic?

5) What do you two have in common?

6) Which Movies have you watched together? ***I mentioned 3 movies

7) Has he been married?

8) How many children?

9) How old are his children?

10) Has he visited you again after you met?

11) What does he do for work?

12) Do you have pictures of you together?

13) Where's this place? (Pointed at a Picture)

Awesome thanks for your help

Hi everyone, some advice would be greatly appreciated please.

I’m a London beneficiary and we received our NOA2 on the 19th of May.

We then finally received our case number from the NVC on June 15th.

How long should we expect to wait for it to be at the embassy? They’re driving us nuts.... :(

If they haven't give you a case number yet which means the queue in lagos office is large....

Because I got my case number the second day they receive my petition so is like they are waiting for more space to open so that they slot in your case with the next batch and assign you a case number.

We are still waiting  on for our case to be sending and you are waiting for a case number so logically.

Space in lagos office is jampad.

The average is 2-4 weeks for most. But pretty sure they are gonna send some cases today.

Have you ever called them and was told being under administrative processing?

I hope this is the week for us... dying in the long waiting...

No we haven't called after we got our case number. Might call next week when our medical results will be ready and I would be ready for interview.

I see. Is your case already in your embassy?

As I called today to ask NVC if it is ok for me to schedule a medical exam, then the representative just told me 'no, the case is under AP'.... so I guess I will have to wait then...

You mean ds160? No you have to pay it here to gtbank and it's 265 I guess and then use the teller number during his or her filling for interview.

But before paying make sure that the petition is sent to lagos.
