How much delay does RFE cause?

My wife filed for me back in September '17. After checking the case status literally everyday, we got to know yesterday that they have asked for additional evidence.

Mail has not been received yet so we are not sure what they want. But the question is, once we provide the evidence, how much time does USCIS take to approve i130?

When I had an RFE it was processed pretty quickly after we send the information back.. I think at the point when an RFE is issued, an immigration officer already looked at your case and the information required in the RFE is the only thing missing before your application can be completely processed.. so once you respond back the immigration officer handling your case picks up the information and continues processing.. the delay to your processing time is the number of days between the day the RFE is issued and the time the RFE information is received back at USCIS give or take a few days.. That was my experience anyways.

Approval after response RFE cases takes from few days to some months. Mine took over 4months to get an approval after response to RFE was received.

Took 5 weeks to get my K1 approval after getting an RFE. Was an early August applicant. Going on vacation to see my fiance while we wait for the NVC to get our case. RFEs differ in time from when you get it, til they decide to start back on your app. Not sure if they had so many others to go back to before mine, or if they actually had more info on my app to go thru before approving it. Not sure if there is time difference between K1 and CR1 with RFEs.
