I am LPR petitioning my children. I share my address w my son in the US.

1- DS 260 requires me as petitioner to provide phone number which i dont have. It doesnt allow me to leave blank. Is it OK put (000)0000000 ?. Underneath it,  i put my mobile number (optional).

2- do i have to use US address in petitioner’s section or my local one where I  live w my kids while waiting for their approval?

Thank you.

If you petition for your child, you should be in the US. Consular Officer will need your tax transcript or ID, or any documents to prove you live in the US. Otherwise, they will not allow you to petition for your child.

Some people were in this trouble in their interview date, when the Consular Officer found out their petitioner left the US to live in their home country.

Back to your question:

1 - You MUST use your US phone number.

2 - You MUST use your US home address, it may be your son's US address or any US address to prove you live in US.

Repeat, if they find out you do not live in US (do not have US phone number or US physical address for contact), your case will be questioned.

In case you are living outside US, you can use your son's US address for temporarily in DS-260. Then you should go back to US to maintain your LPR status. You will lose you LPR status if you leave the US 1 year.

Hence my question - there’s no way F2A gets current in less than a year so no way s/he can maintain his/her own green card without a re-entry permit. ....even before you get to the proving domicile bit to sponsor.
