Hello, everybody!

So here is my weird business.

I've filed I-751 in May 2017. Happily received NOA extension letter same month, but... there was a typo in my first name. For example, if my name would've been :

"Lastname,     ABCD     E.",

the typo named me:

"Lastname,     BACD     E.".

I checked my application, everything was fine on my end, so the typo is USCIS's fault, and I can understand it, if they still have to type each applicant by hand - mistakes will be made of course. So I called them, but  they could not bring up any information about my case, saying that they have a problem with their system and each time asking me to call back later.

In the same month - May 2017 - I've received my bio metrics appointment and my name was stated correctly there, so it was a relief that the typo is just a one off mistake and my whole case did not became jeopardized. Appointment went smooth, no problem.

So I kept calling them through out the summer of 2017, getting the same response every time "We are having problem with our system, please call back later". In the middle of August I finally had a success, and after an hour of explaining what is exactly wrong with my name on NOA (my first name has a peculiar spelling on English and it's quite often hard for people to get it right) I submitted the request to fix the typo.

A couple weeks later I got a letter with a response. It stated my name correctly (yay), but then it just said that there is no typo have been found so no action will be taken. So, it's good that overall my name is correct on file, but on my copy of proof of my immigration status was still containing a mistake.

At that point it was all dragging on and after being frustrated I decided to fling it and just wait for my approval notice (hopefully), it was probably reckless of me, but I decided to wait.  Now, however, circumstances have changed and I'll need to update my DL and get a new job - which means I need a proof of my status, and I'm afraid having a typo in first name is not reliable enough. I still have probably about half a year waiting period ahead to get my GC, so here is the question:

Should I send them an online request for correcting the typo on my NOA (which I am not sure they will do, cause that notice was produced almost a year ago), Or should I try to get an I-551 stamp instead and hope they will let me do it with the typo on extension letter? Am I over stressing about it and it's not a big deal Or is it even bigger deal than I am imagining it to be?

P.S.: So far any lawyer I've talked to did not give me any real advice, everything is kinda "depends on the mood of the officer" response. Of course the mood has it's play, but there has got to be a logical solution from legal side of view!

If anybody has any ideas I would be happy to hear them.

Thank you for you time.
