Why have you not started the process?

Congrats on your pregnancy!... My fiance and I were pregnant when we filed the k1 visa and its heart breaking we haven't been able to be together and he has seen our daughter only once after she was born. We are still waiting for our visa results.  :(

My fiancé was denied a tourist visa and I believe her being pregnant was the main reason.

She was approved for K-1 this year, Long after the birth of our son.

the thing is even if you file today for k1 visa, is very unlikely he will be here in the States by august-September taking into consideration the process is taking not less than 7 months. As a wife and mother, you need your partner right next to you. If I were you, I would make sure to find the best care in Belize and once your baby is born, registered her birth at the US Embassy so she can get US documents...and once you are ready, file a k1 visa or get married and file a cr1 visa

Trust me, I wish I could be here for the delivery solely for him to see the birth of his daughter, but that isn't an option for me unfortunately. Thank you all for your advice, pretty straight forward and I know what we have to do!1

Hi friends, long story short. My boyfriend of almost 2 years and I are expecting our little miracle in September. He is Belizean and I have been living in Belize for the last 2 years. Our plan is to marry eventually but we just have to figure some things out in the meantime. Our ultimate goal is to be in the US together as a family. I am returning to the US in June for better healthcare and financial opportunities. My boyfriend has been denied for his tourist visa once already, no reason given. We are wondering, if I go with him, we have all the proof and explain to the officers that we just want his tourist visa so he is able to go to the US and be there for the birth of his daughter. He will return shortly after that and then with the hope of his acceptance, visit every 6 months or so until we can start the process of his K-1 Visa. Our intentions are to follow everything by the book we are just devastated at the thought of him not being able to be there for the birth of his daughter. I'm wondering what anyone's thoughts are??

I believe it will only decrease his chances for tourist visa because CO will have way more doubts that your boyfriend will actually return back to his country and will not stay in the US. Generally, pregnancy doesn't increase chances of getting any visa, it's just a personal circumstance.

Exactly Victor. I just never understand why people keep thinking that for getting pregnant immigration will come faster for them (not necessarily the OP's case) or expect that the case will move further along the line because they need to be together at baby's birth. USCIS could not care less. And if that was the case then this would get out of control and people would be yelling discrimination from the rooftop. Like you say, a pregnancy is a personal circumstance and it makes the immigration process more stressful.

Unfortunately being pregnant doesn’t affect the process whatsoever. I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant and I tried to even expedite my husband’s I-130 (different process but same situation) and most likely he won’t be here for the birth of the baby since it was denied. Pregnancy is not a reason for an expedite nor does it give a “better chance” for their approval. Sorry... hard pill to swallow but I’ve accepted that I’ll be giving birth in the US alone :( I think once you have the baby, it will signify a bonafide marriage as both of you now “share” a child so it may increase his chances in the future.

USCIS doesn’t care- anyone can have a baby. Start applying for k1 now, in my opinion, and don’t plan on him being there for the birth (unfortunately)

OP, you have 2 options.

#1 Have the baby in your boyfriend's country, while you petition for him either as K1 or as spouse visa (if you marry him there of course)

#2 Have the baby in the US, while you petition him ASAP.

If having him around is so important then have the baby in Belize. I'm sure you can find a nice hospital to have the baby.

Me and my fiance have a two year old daughter. It's been quite a bit of back and forth visits for all of her life. We just got our approval from USCIS on April 13th...179 days after applying. I included her in the packet because she is a part of our relationship but I don't think she had anything to do with our approval and she most definitely didn't speed the process up for us. Just include proof that you two are a legit couple....in their eyes pregnancy isn't proof.

CONGRATS ON YOUR LITTLE MIRACLE BY THE WAY! :)
