I read that it delays if you change the address while it’s being processed but if you did that 6 months ago , you got plenty of time difference , did you file the AR-11 when you changed? I did that for my wife and got a quick confirmation about the address change

I only filed online and didn't get any notifications, just the address change request confirmation.

In the new petition I did use the new address and added the old one as previous address though

My GC expires 6/02. Mailed 5/1, received 5/2.

I have two international trips for work. First one is 05/27-05/29 and another one 6/05-6/12.

I am concerned about arriving to the US very close to expiration date without NOA (first trip), and arriving with expired GC with NOA (hoping it will arrive on time) but without I-551 passport stamp or biometrics appointment (second trip).

Hello everybody! I am working on collecting everything for my ROC package. Unfortunately, I will be mailing my i-751 form with a waiver due to divorce.

I just wanted to ask a quick question. A lot of people say that it's a good thing to write a personal statement to explain what caused the marriage to end but I'm having a hard time finding a sample/format of how to write. Is there anyone here that can shed some light on this?

You’ll need to make an infopass appointment to see what you can do.

But it I wouldn’t look forward to coming back into the US with an expired green card. There’s a 100% chance they won’t let you back in. Explaining that you applied won’t be good enough.

note that the VSC processes faster than CSC but VSC still has about a 30 day turn around. CSC youre looking at 30-60 days from when they received your package until you get mailed your NOA.

I strongly recommend NOT to travel without either the NOA or i-551 stamp.... heck I wouldn't even travel with my green card expiring so close to my returning date , remember that life is full of unexpected things, any delay in your trip and you would have a really hard time getting back into the US.

If there is no other choice I would make an Infopass and explain my situation to see if they can give you a i-551 stamp even if it is a short term one, the worst that can happen is they say no.

I will discuss with my lawyer and make a decision soon. Last time I entered the US (10 days ago) I asked the immigration officer if it was ok to enter 05-29 even though GC expires 06-02 and he said there was no problem but as @Downloader points out, unexpected things can happen.

I wouldn’t worry much about the 5-29 trip. I would worry about the trip in June.

Basically Downloader is saying, that if something happens like life, or flight delays that cause you not to come back to the US by the time your GC expires.. You need to make sure you're back in the US by the expiration date. If you leave for the June 5th trip, and you don't have the NOA or passport stamp, you won't be allowed back in.
