In February, we had gotten a notice that our biometrics are being waived. But today, we got a notice in the mail that our appointment is on May 20th in St. Louis. That office is 3 1/2 hours away.

Yes.

Everyone please note that the biometric waivers sent out in Feburary were sent in MASS. Thousands all sent out at the same time, this was done by the click of a button, not because they looked at every case and said "good to go". Because of this, they are now actually going one by one scheduling appointments for those who they decide needs it.

It sounds extension letter would not be accepted by Mexico:

https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/sanfrancisco/index.php/visas-traveling-to-mexico

US Residents: If your United States visa stamped on your passport already expired but you have an official document proving your legal status in USA, you must apply for a Mexican visa (I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms won’t be accepted to entering Mexico), unless you have a valid Visa for any of the countries listed above (Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen area).

What if you just have a layover in Mexico? Do you need a Visa for that?

Transferred? No

Hey Guys, does anyone have any experience with/heard anything relating to going on a cruise to Mexico or Bahamas or outside U.S. with expired GC and the extension letter?

I’ve traveled outside U.S a few times in the last year with both docs and I had no issues at the border (airport), I don’t know if I’ll have a different experience at the port (boat).

Not sure if you already left, but I went on a cruise in the Caribbean (including Cozumel, Mexico) in December. My GC was expired and they had even taken it away when I got my 551 extension stamp in my passport. I travelled with the NOA

and my passport w/ stamp and had no problems in any port or on re-entry to US. Didn't even have to explain the situation to anyone. Hope that helps.

They didn't subject you to secondary screening on re-entry? They do that to me each and every time. Maybe it's just my nationality 😏. Lucky you.

No they didn't, but I was totally expecting it. I once had to go through secondary screening when I was still on a tourist visa, but not since GC.

Sounds like tsa is ok with it. Just in case you could bring a copy of your marriage certificate to show the name change.

I am quite worried right now since I sent my I -751 package on  Thursday May 9th, Post office says it was delivered on Saturday May 11th.

However instead of the Dallas TX lock box zipcode 75266 of USCIS that I put on the package, it is said the package was delivered at Dallas , TX 75260.

I checked with the Post office and they said it's Government mails so that happened all the time, and it's the same place downtown Texas.

Today is May 16th and I still have not received any text/email notification from USCIS that they receive my package or not (I enclose form G 1145 in the package). I am not sure how long does it take for them to notify us or what may happen to the package.

Should I call USCIS to check with them if there is no news from them next week?
