@pearla This is probably why we didn't receive the biometrics notice:

So far the Mid-Month April Filers are the last to receive biometrics.

Anyone who is past that and has contacted USCIS has been told that Biometrics are waived as of May due to the workload.

I wouldn't expect to hear anything from them until it's RFE time, which is still a whiles away.

@michaelasheu ok that explains it! Thanks for the reply. Feb 2018 CSC fillers are getting approvals now so we’re not that far after :D

Hey all. I recently read on the USCIS site that we (May Filers) are 15-18 months out from the expiration of the Green Card, which means potentially nothing until next summer. 😦

Please link the article.

There should be no reason for this, as March filers are being approved and one even said they were recently approved with no RFE and with little financial evidence and they sent mostly pictures and social media posts.

So for that, it's basing that time off of if you have a receipt date of July 18, 2017 or earlier. It's said that same time frame since July 18th, 2017 most likely, and it was expected to take that long back when we filed. If a Jan 2018 filer pulled up the website, they would see the same thing, so there's nothing filer specific.

Right now, most people are getting their cases either RFE'd or approved within 12-14 months. USCIS does a longer time period to make it so we're "within processing time" in case anything happens, it gives them an excuse as to why we need to keep waiting.

The numbers they generate is also based off of historical data, and not current data as per their website:

"We now show case processing times as a range. The first number is the time it takes to complete 50% of cases (the median). The second number is the time it takes to complete 93% of cases.

For non-pilot forms, we will continue to use our old method to calculate processing times, but will add an upper limit that is generally 130% of the processing time.

We calculate processing times by using historical data of completed cases. We cannot project how long it will take to complete a case filed today."

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/more-info

As of right now, there's nothing to support the below statement. Just sit back and watch the others filers get approved. Right now there is a boom for Jan 2018 and Feb 2018 filers, along with a handful of March 2018 filers getting approved. It won't take long to get to May.
