Can you get a stamp in your passport showing the 18 months extension letter and pending I-751 case? I need the stamp to extend my driver's license 😴

No. The stamps are only good for a year. If you have a year extension letter or a stamp, then you should be able to extend your drivers license, but there is no 18 month stamp.

I didn't ask specifically for a 1 year stamp in my passport, just any stamp. I've been getting 3 months and 6 months stamps in my passport because they made a mistake on my original green card. They've never given me a new one. I need the stamp to extend my driver's license 😴

Hi guys,

I received NOA on 6/21, CSC filer and trying to estimate tentative timeline for bio-metrics appointment.

We are planning to travel outside US in mid November and return back in last week of December but worried that what if we receive bio-metrics appointment notice in the mail when we are gone and miss the appointment. Recently I did inquiry with USCIS regarding travelling concern, in email they said "Please know your name has been added electronically to appointment scheduler and you will receive ASC notice once date is established for you." I am not sure if this is automated reply or someone at USCIS actually looked into file and emailed us. Even then it does not tell the date or anything.

I have heard that appointment can be rescheduled but that is possible after notice is received. In our case, due to travel we will not be able to check if notice has arrived and can't think of anyone who can open our mail box either.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Quick question:

For the ones that would like to file for Naturalization while waiting for the Removal of Condition from their Greencard, the requirements state "Generally, certain lawful permanent residents married to a U.S. citizen may file for naturalization after residing continuously in the United States for three years if immediately preceding the filing of the application", but the N-400 form says "You have been a lawful permanent resident of the United States for at least 3 years. In addition, you have been married to and living with the same US citizen spouse for the last 3 years,..."

Does this mean:

  • Have been married for 3 years (and lived in the States for 3 years) or
  • Have had the Greencard for 3 years

I am assuming most of us got the Greencard a few months later, so I want to make sure we are referring to the correct date.

Oh, and what is the difference in the process if I want to keep my German citizenship?

Thanks!

My understanding is the 3 year count starts after you get your greencard (use the "Resident Since" date), in addition you need to be married to that same person during the 3 years after the greencard is issued to you.

So in our case, we got married in May 2016, husband got greencard August 2016, that makes us eligible to apply 90 days before August 2019.
