Hello, Guys.

I got my 18 months extension letter on Saturday.

Very disappointing to see that we are going to be delayed for longer now.

My question is if the Green card does not come through can we go ahead to apply for citizenship?

Thank you for any responses.

Question, on those receiving the 18 month extension, is any of yours saying the part about it being a courtesy copy and that the official notice is being sent to the attorney?

We've never used an attorney at any part of the immigration process and had no problem getting any relevant information from USCIS in until this.

Just curious if my husbands actually going to get a water marked copy of the 18 month notice in the mail or if we're going to have to start a hassle with USCIS to get him one.

We just discovered something that might be helpful to others and thought of sharing it.

If you can't view your case status online (which has been the case with us since we received our NOA1 letter), try the following:

  • Log in or register at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/
  • Click on (My account) on the right top corner of the page
  • Under (Account actions), select (Add a paper-filed case)
  • Enter your case number, and it should be added to your account

Hope this helps :)

That really helped me! Thanks. Was getting "My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. " from https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do but at least now I can see my case in the "my account" facility.

Still no biometrics appointment, and all my case status says is

"June 11, 2018

Case Was Received"

Hi all,

I have a quick question. So we applied for removal of conditions in August. My husband has gotten his 18 month extension already, he got this amazing job opportunity but we’re not sure if he can take it because of this process. If anyone could let me know if he would be able to apply for this job or not due to all of this I would REALLY apprecite the feedback.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you so much for replying! Yes I saw that I was just a little confused as to how specific it was as if in he was eligible to work but had to stay in the job he had or what it was. I don’t remember where but I think I had read someone say that they couldn’t change jobs while waiting for their 10 year residency card but thank you so much for the clarification! 😊

Yes you can file for citizenship 90 days from the 3 year anniversary of being a LPR.  I know many going through that now.

Hello All,

Does anyone know which month/year is being approved currently ?

Thanks.

Looks like May 2017 they are on. But you know it's crazy. I have seen two that just filed in August get cards sent. Seems very country specific. One was Norway one was Antarctica.

I've read in other discussions that they will not grant your citizenship until your green card has been approved. Does anyone know if that's true?
