USCIS’ California Service Center (CSC) is experiencing a delay in initial data entry for Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. Since initial data entry has to be completed before a receipt notice can be issued, some petitioners and their dependents may experience a delay in receiving a receipt notice for a Form I-751 submitted to the CSC.

 

If you submitted a Form I-751 to the CSC in May 2018 and you have not received a receipt notice, do not file a duplicate Form I-751 unless you have received a rejection notice or have been instructed to do so by the CSC.

 

The CSC is working to complete data entry of these petitions by the end of June 2018, and will issue another web alert once initial data entry has returned to normal. Petitioners will receive a receipt notice once their data is entered into USCIS systems.

 

If your 2-year green card has expired, you should call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 (TTY for people with hearing or speech disabilities: 1-800-767-1833). The USCIS Contact Center will setup an appointment for you and any eligible dependents at your local field office. If possible, bring evidence that you sent your Form I-751 via USPS or courier service, such as FedEx.

Hi wenz7777. I can empathize with you.. the wait is stressful. Someone recently posted an alert from the USCIS website about delays at the CSC. I imagine they will get to your application soon, but in the meantime, a call to their Contact Center may be warranted. Perhaps they can set up an appointment for you at a local field office and you can get an I-551 stamp on your passport.

Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to insert another line. I had to resubmit our form because the form was out of date... (no comment, I'm still mad about it).  Good news is, the check was cashed today. Hopefully, it will not take 18 months to get the card approved. And if it does, we'll be at the N400 window by then.

And looks like way too many people are sending another package because they think it got misplaced. And in turn, making an already backlogged process slower.

 

And had we gotten that Alert even 15 days ago - everyone would have been soo relieved.

I am pretty sure it will actually take at least 18 months. Just couple weeks ago the processing time was at 19 months, now it's at 20: 

 

But I am pretty confident that we will be in the N-400 window even before that, as for people that got the green card through marriage, we can already file after 3 years.

Okay, so I sent 2 packages one on April 09 and the second on May 22 because I thought the first package got lost. The first package was sent with a money order and the second one with a check. Today I checked the mail and USCIS sent me a notice of action with the receipt notice, the date is 04/13/18, but I sent a cancellation of the money order I sent back in April, so I don't understand how they sent me that receipt when the payment on the money order was stopped, I even got the refund checks. I'm very confused.

Yes, it says amont received $680. I don't know if they found my second package but the second package was sent with a check but the check has not been cashed either.

Hey guys! So I went in for my info pass appointment yesterday and have some good news to share with those who mailed their packet and haven’t got the receipt yet. The officer gave me a 90 day I-551 stamp in my passport so that I would be able to use it as a temporary green card (my gc expired 05/31/18)...I’m still waiting for the receipt but at least not worried about being out of status.

I was one of those people that sent 2 packages :(. I sent the first one on April 10 and the second one May 22. The worst thing it is that they found my first package and they sent me a receipt yesterday but that package was sent with a money order and I already cancelled the money order and got my money refunded. The second package was sent with a check to make it easier. I don't know what is going to happen, if they will just deny the first petition and find the second one.

I do not think you to worry about it too much. Either they will cash it out of the second check, or if they can't do that they will request for money to be submitted.

Maybe your NOA says Money received because they entered that data when they saw you money order. And processed the receipt before figuring out that the money order cannot be used. 

 

I think money not coming through might not be a reason for them to nullify your application completely.

Hey guys, I've been reading this thread for a while now and since it's been so helpful I'd like to add myself to the list too. I send my package May 19th, it was received on May 21st and my check was just cashed today.

 

Thanks to all of you for being so helpful, this has made the wait a lot less stressful. 

 

Edit: I haven't received the NOA yet though. I'll post an update when that comes in.
