As long as it is received by USCIS within the 90 day window before your GC expires, you will be fine. It is the physical CARD that expires, not your permanent resident status. So, as long as you filed on time, even with the current processing delay, they will have a record of when they received your application, and you will not have any issues

thanks, that's what I've been thinking this whole time, and we do have the proof of receipt stamp from CSC since we sent it certified with the return label request, but getting so close to the expiry date the craziness is starting to set in :/ thanks again

Technically the only real proof is the NOA.

But as long as you're not running into situations that you'll need to provide proof your fine. The only people that have voiced worry are those who live near boarder patrol points, and regularly travel them. Those guys have to... well, avoid the travel points until they have an NOA.

As long as you're not flying internationally, or live near a boarder patrol station that you have to pass through, you will be alright. =]

inI sent the I 751 package on May 07, 2018. I did not receive Noa1 yet and my checks were not cashed out. I called yesterday the USCIS about that delay , and I was told to wait more than 30 days because California office is having a lot of applications. For that reason, I have to wait for couple weeks more.

VSC filer from Boston here, I got my NOA today, dated 5/29! My application arrived 5/9 (the NOA says it was received 5/10); my check was cashed yesterday, 5/31. I don't have IE so I'm not adding my info to the list, I don't want to mess up the formatting...

Hi all,

So I sent off my packet yesterday (My GC expires 6/30/2018), we filed a little later than we would have liked just to unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully that'll be ok. Anyway, my question is - my employer recently let go a few people and I am not entirely sure whether I am next, if I do not receive my NOA of extension before 6/30/18, will I not be able to work? Second scenario, if my current employer decide to keep me, may I continue to work there without the NOA? I'm just worried I won't have a job during this time?

Does anyone think this is too short notice, assuming they'll receive it this week... and it expires the end of the month, this is causing me so much anxiety.. Below is what we provided:

Exhibit A:

  • Original USAA Bank Personal Check in the amount of $680.00 for payment of the I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions ($595 + Biometric Fee $85)
  • Copy of USCIS Form I-551 Front and Back (Permanent Resident Card)
  • Original Form I-751 filled and signed
  • Additional Information to Form I-751

Exhibit B:

  • Copy of marriage certificate
  • Copy of our humanist wedding ceremony certification for our marriage celebrations with our families in the UK
  • Copy of our Wedding Ceremony Outline

Exhibit C:

  • 2016 Tax Return Transcripts from the IRS

Exhibit D:

  • Copies of bank statements of our joint checking account from 2016-2018 showing various financial co-mingling such as joint rent payments for our xxxx address and xxxx address, car insurance payments, utility bill payments, cell phone payments, groceries etc.

Exhibit E:

  •  Copy of our two most current lease agreements listing us as joint tenants at our address beginning May 2017, and continuing on until May 2019.
  • Copy of our E-Renters Insurance Plan showing xxx and xxx under the insured.

Exhibit F:

  • Copy of agreement with current employer for employee retirement plan showing xxxx as beneficiary along with terms of the plan
  • Copy of application sent to xxx for xxxx's individual investment account showing xxxx as beneficiary

Exhibit G:

  • Copies of photos of us together at various events with family, friends and our jointly owned pets throughout the years
  • Copies of travels taken together in January 2017, and July 2017

Exhibit H:

  • COpies of details of our first wedding and our wedding ceremony to include photos, wedding programs, cards.

Do you guys think this is enough? I am so nervous.

Hi can I be added to the list? Filed with CSC sent out 5/2, delivered 5/4, no cashed check, and no NOA. Had an info pass appointment on the 24th and the officer told us that they haven't even processed our application yet.

What on earth is going on over in California?? I saw on a couple websites that there were delays for technical reasons? Seriously? This is so frustrating. I was going into this thinking that it was 1-2 weeks to get the receipt and if not you can get the i551 stamp...well you can't get the stamp if they haven't even started. My husband's green card is now expired and he is not allowed to work.

Is he not allowed to work because he currently isn't in a job?

Oh this is the best part, we decided to move to my hometown and he accepted a job and we both put in our two weeks notice and we went ahead with the assumption that we will just get an i-551 stamp if it doesn’t arrive on time. No stamp. Expired green card. And now he has to wait to start his new job. Great timing on our part. Gold star ⭐️

As per the timeline we see in this forum people whose package was delivered around 5/10 or 5/11 have had their check cashed . It looks like 21 to 25 days for VSC as per the current trend
