Hello everyone,

i am new here.. my GC will expire 08/30/2018 and I mailed my package on may 30,2018. I requested 2 days delivery but they delivered it within on day 😬😬😬😬😬. I think I am on the 91 mark so I hope they will not return my package. Also it’s looks like there is huge backlog right now base on what I am see here. I will keep you guys posted if my check get cashed or if they return my package 😭😭😭😭😭.

Did you file with CSC or VSC? So that I can get you added in the list properly :D

If we sent our package on 5/31, but it’s obviously gonna be delivered in June, will we be considered as May or June filers for your tracking purposes? Please let us know and we’ll provide you with our details to add to your table.

I'd say it is really up to you, whether you want to be tracked with us or the June filers, there is no strict rules :P

Hi everyone, I just realized that I sent the wrong photocopy of my passport with my ROC package. Instead of attaching a copy of my new passport, I attached a copy of my old passport that expired a year ago. Does anyone know if this would be a problem?

I guess if they really need to see the new one, they would send you RFE down the road...

Does anyone know what happens if the green card expires before a service center (CSC) in our case gets around to opening the package?

We mailed on 5/1, sent certified mail with return label stamped by CSC on 5/1 (we live real close to Laguna Niguel so I guess it got there same day). But based on the backlog and the latest April check cashings, NOAs, I'm not anticipating the May 1 filers to get their NOAs until the 2nd, 3rd week of June at the earliest. Green card expires 6/8.

This seems like a pretty common situation, but I can't find anything on it. Anyone have insight?

It's unfortunate, but at least once you have the application in order, it will be processed as it should. Don't worry!

As long as it is received by USCIS within the 90 day window before your GC expires, you will be fine. It is the physical CARD that expires, not your permanent resident status. So, as long as you filed on time, even with the current processing delay, they will have a record of when they received your application, and you will not have any issues
