No, not good enough. You are required to fill out form AR-11 online within 10 days of moving, and they generally do check if you do that or not and were compliant with that requirement. I'd complete that ASAP.

Hey, so do I have to file ar-11 online and THEN call as well ? First question is this

"Is this change of address for an application or petition currently in progress?"

Is that a yes or a no ?

Really?

We moved a few times during the 2 year period, and recently moved into our new house. I had all of our addresses updated (with USPS, banks, credit card co)

And our I-751 had our new address as mailing address, all old addresses during this 2 years filled in on the last page as additional information to the I-751 form Part 1 Item Number 22 "Have you resided at any other address since you became a permanent resident?"

Yeah... we had our officer even in our interview tell us to do this. Your sponsor has to do it as well separately with a form you mail in. I'm sure it varies on how strict they are, but the technical requirement is you have to make USCIS aware within 10 days of every move. Have they received your new petition/application? If so, then yes. If not, then no.

Alright I updated it online with USPS and USCIS ar-11. Uhh hopefully I wont get in trouble ? I had no idea I had to. The old address was my in laws which we were staying at.

I see, thanks for the info.

I just updated ours, I selected No to the questions though since it was asking for a receipt # (our I-751 just got delivered, I don't think we are getting a receipt # anytime soon..)

Awesome great job. Hopefully you won't run into issues, at least you did it now. My understanding is that it is a formality USCIS wants people to do. While I was told by one officer they check to verify this, I was told by another that the system itself is a little wonky so maybe that would be in your favor. At any rate I would hope this wouldn't be a huge deal, especially if everything else on your app is good. This stuff can be a lot to stay on top of!

That sounds like you did it perfect! Good luck!! Since you have your new address on your new application, at least you will know that any notices will get to you as that is the address they will use going forward.
