Thanks and the kids will take care of the chickens. I have a pretty good feeding system that I can leave them for days and they will still have food and water. But we like to spoil them so the kids will do that well.

Yes, I we get along fine but the language difference btwn us has proven difficult. Mostly, I try and she doesn't understand and immediately turns to la hija for traducion.

 

I have now taken 15 weeks of Spanish class at the local comm college. I want to extend past my limited vocabulary and understand some grammar too. I'm guessing I'll take a more honest stab at communicating with the m-i-l, while she is here.

Same here, si and sigh man.  When Mrs. T-B. goes off for her 2-week class in July, we will have to rely on Mini-B. for traduccion, egad man.  That is, unless one of the rubias is bilingual, but this was not among their interview questions, no man.

This morn, we had to drop Mini-B. at his weekly camp at a non-GPS'd address, in blinding rain, much to ask from an inadequately caffeinated bloodstream of we man.

I wish I could work at something part time more than the gigs I do.  It would help.  Unfortunately, unless I get a job with full family benefits, it isn't worth it as we'd lose not only our insurance at just a few thousand more a year, but the kids if I work full time.  One side in Minnesota is pushing for people who earn more than 200% FPL to buy into state health insurance (which we already do) and to set our state up for single-payer.  We'll see how that goes, but I suspect that I'll be working at a career before then.  

 

I didn't realize, but they might actually go into official repayment soon as in both the fall and spring I'm taking less than 6 credits.

I have no problem with other Scandos understanding me, but there is something about a foreigner from a non-guttural tones country speaking Danish that just doesn't work for Danish ears.   Alas, I think that I'm understood when I speak English and I understand most of what is spoken in Danish.
