Flatmate is still among us. In fact, she has announced that she feels much better and is fine and would like to go home thank you very much.

 

She isn't going to be very pleased when she finds out that will be unlikely.  She really needs to go into care.  I think the time has more than come that she understands she can no longer manage on her own.

 

It isn't that I don't feel for her and her situation. She's had a crappy hand dealt, and had a pretty miserable life.  She's mentally still the sharpest person I've ever met.  Shes' done some remarkable things in her life in spite of it all, and always managed to bob up fairly intact.

 

I'll try and call again in a couple of days, I've given them all my contact details in the event that they need to reach me. I'm shattered.

We had a rough day, rough for we man.

 

We went to get our Tdap booster, 2x2x2+2 years since previous man.

In process, we chatted with nurse about our long-time doc at other clinic, chat we with she man.

Nurse said, "Did you hear the news, huh man?"

We said, "What news, huh ma'am?"

Nurse said, "He's transitioning from clinical to administrative this month."

We (in shock) said, "You mean they're taking him away from all of us?"

Nurse said, "Si, man."

 

We went into a day-long tailspin, turmoil and grief we man.

Best doc on Earth whom we'd had for Many (2x2x2x2 + 2x2x2+1) years, si man.

Were hoping to stay with him till we croaked or he retired, one or another man.

Not to be, no man.

Completely, royally sucks, sigh man.

On the one hand, I feel for you man. Having a good personal doctor for many years is great.

 

On the other hand, you should consider yourself lucky. I have never had a personal doctor for longer than 4 years. They move out of town, they retire, they move to a different practice, they move off your insurance's provider list, they piss you off with bad advice and you drop them.... the list goes on.

 

I once got a new doctor while living in Seattle and asked if it was his intention to remain living and working in the area for a long period of time. He told me that yes, he intended to practice in Seattle for a long time. Two years later he moved to the East coast.

My mother was complaining to me about the same issue recently.

 

Suggestion: get a tiny lady friendly weed-whacker and do it yourself.

We have a Husqvarna one that I find too cumbersome to operate.  The Dane has talked about getting a battery powered one.  I haven't seen it, but I'd guess it was probably a Milwaukee, given its cult-like status in our home.  😂  I might get him to weed-whack three times over the summer, if I'm lucky.
