06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

About to fold LL #Many (2+2) and bake LL #Many (2+2+1), That's All Folks man.

Laundry and mowing never end, no man.

Only remaining chore = make our first Many lunches of the week, prepare-to-ingest we man.

'Twill be a relief to return to the hectic-yet-profitable world of Pre-Owned Toilet Seats tomorrow, go to POTS we man.

 

Other than this, highlight of day was using expiring CVS coupon and saving Many% off total purchase, save we man.

Secondary highlight was gassing/warshing the thirsty/filthy Mrs.-T-B.-mobile, ameliorate we man.

I just came from the worst BBQ ever! 

 

And, these 2 idiot kids kept bullying my daughter. 12 and 13 year old boys, kept telling my daughter and other little girls "screw you", among other things. Their parents won't do anything about it, and it's not the first time. So....I stood up for my daughter. Embarrassed these 2 in front of everyone. It wasn't pretty. And their parents, as expected, did not dare challenge me. Otherwise I would have embarrassed them, too. My wife couldn't understand that tolerance has its limits...

 

And they're forbidden from ever coming to my house. The whole family.

My flatmate was taken to hospital later yesterday by ambulance. The head District Nurse went out to the house and prevailed on her to go. I've just spoken with her BIL, who says there was concern she would not make it through last night. She's apparently quite a bad way.  It is unlikely that whatever else happens, she won't be able to return to her present situation.  It's al pretty grim.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Some sort of systemic infection. Her BIL is 92, and not really up with the play. Her sister had gone over to her house to try and tidy up, so I can't get any useful information until at least tomorrow. I am ringing my flatmate's number in the chance that I will catch her sister there.
