TBone, is Alberto going to give you any weather problems?

My charming sister in law and her husband have decided they need a break from looking after the MIL, which they do from an hour away from her retirement facility.  This is the second break in three months, they went to Hawaii in March.

Now they are in Tampa. They have a paid in advance accommodation and are staying put.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Sorry update on eternal kitchen renovation, drawn-out debacle man.

Repair Mexicans labored all Friday tiling the backsplash and trying to plumb, major difficulties with latter man.

Garbage disposal wouldn't fit under right side of sink, weird sink design man.

It is now on the left side, connected via a labyrinth of pipes, only solution man.

Supplies missing to do sink-warshdisher connection, too much for one day man.

RMs don't work Saturdays so will return Sunday, job might finally be finished then man.

We should then have a kitchen back, finally man.

Hopefully your sink has two drains, right?

I've got a big sink with just one drain so I can easily wash pans...so the first thought that came to my mind was "that isn't going to work," but a normal sink it might.

Yesterday was a plumbing day here too.  The Dane finally installed the water heater that has been sitting in a box for the last 6 months.  Took him almost no time at all, why it had to wait half a year, I don't know.

They're not exactly throwing themselves fully into the MIL caring experience are they 🙄

I have a whole new bathroom that has been sat in the barn for a year waiting for redneck to get round to fitting it. It'll be a happy day when all the cabinets move out of the den 😂

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Oh, I never thought they would ..unless it was at arm's length. Particularly now as they have got a good dose of how she actually is, and not what she's always led them to believe.

What is it with men. They always seem to amass all the parts for a project, but never get around to it for so long. Our new shed would still be sat in a huge carton on the back lawn, if I hadn't just gone ahead on my own. Once I have the bits I need for anything, I get stuck in.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

If it wasn't the master suite and redneck works nights so will notice if I set about it with a sledgehammer I'd have taken it apart by now 😂😂

Usually I just start doing something and he'll take over because he thinks he does it better.  I could have tried doing that with the water heater, but I think he would have caught on when I was asking what each plumbing tool did and then how to use the blow torch.  I'd probably get a resounding "nice try NOLA."

A lot of the other stuff he thinks I can do, but I just don't have the time during the day to be painting stuff with my toddler who touches everything...

Sorry to hear about the GPS Tbone.

Glad the trip went well.

I want to get my teeth whitened so bad. I never had nice white teeth and it's always bothered me. Too many antibiotics as a kid.

kitchen renos are the worse. I'm going to paint and add new hardware to help hide some of the uglyness of it all. Have I mentioned I hate my kitchen??

I am married to a profect initiator who moves on to the next one...then the next.... and the next ...at about 70 % complete

I hear you !!!

Oh for sure! I think my husband gets bored with something and moves on to the next big thing. One thing can take yonks to be finished. Just get it over with!

He's amazed at the guys doing the siding and whatnot that have been here 10 days. They work like they're driven, from 0600 until nearly1930. They are out there right now cleaning up, and loading the truck because they are done!  Done!!! No more O dark earlies for me!!! :D

Yeah  pleased for you !! We finished all the projects in order to sell and immgrate ... wow , did the place look great.

Someone once asked me what my dream house would be ... I answered

" a place that is completely finished, all  at one time, by someone other than me."

Simple

Oh, I wish ...I've got the inside to do now. I can manage all of that, it's painting on the whole, and a bit of tiling.  I "hope" I can get it all done before winter sets in.  I want the windows open to clear the paint fumes. Of course right now, looking at record high temps this well, I might just take a page from my Husnblad. Buy the paint, and all the bits and pieces...and maybe just leave it sitting where he can see it.  Kind of the way he does :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

@cdneh

Where in NZ are you from? My daughter did her Vet degree at Massey... she lives in MS at the moment but her heart is in Alaska.

Massey is an excellent Uni. Born in Canada, lived and worked in Auckland. If I am ever homesick it is for NZ :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Maybe one day it will just magically appear on the walls !!! At least you will know where the paint is when the time comes to actually paint ! 😁

I was thinking last night, the sort of dumb stuff you think about while your other half is snoring. I sure do wish I had the Paint Tool from the Sims. Click and it's done!

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Yes Massey was great...but .... Palmy North... well enough said .

There is something about southern hemisphere lifestyle isn't that..  and the night sky especially...

I hear that. It sure is a different kettle of fish. Of course, it's winter now, and grey and drizzly and damp in Auckland.  I was amazed at the clarity of the light, having spent time in Canada, and in the UK, it is so much more vibrant. And the night sky is wonderful. I still look for constellations in all the wrong places.  I miss the Southern Cross...

Was that before or after you gave the required  dig in the ribs to initiate the roll from back to side ? Lol

Just prior to actually :D

Since one of the scalp post was dug up. I bought some scalp oils from the ethnic section at Target. That and washing my hair only once a week seems to have helped immensely. No flakes. To think I washed it more when it started to flake....
