Some just can't get rid of them so they keep a bachelor pad. Or he could be breeding certain breeds so needs a few roosters for different hens. I know the one couple I sold my Rhode Island Red to last year kept a bunch or roosters to free range as bug control. They eat everything. 

 

I was tempted to get a few meat birds but I would have needed another coop. They grow so fast and so big they can't do the ramps or be kept with regular hens as they could hurt them.

Now that really tickles my fancy, a bachelor pad for roosters.  It would seem there is a lot to know about chickens. My first (and favourite) Mother in law said she kept chickens in her back garden during the war, and not even bombing ever put them off laying. She said one or two got a cold from time to time, and she gave them 'chicken pills and they came right'. Chicken pills :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Was in Russia meeting A's family for the first time and playing tourist in St. Petersburg after that last week. It's a good way to keep a lot of roosters. Most of the time you can't keep more then one unless you have a lot of space and a lot of hens. One rooster per 10 hens so the girls get a break.

Per the above, we note that our in-laws will be visiting from Ecu this summer, visit they we man.

It will probably be far too roosterless for them, culture-shock man.

If Ontarklar can grow/train her roosters in time, she can loan them to us, keep visitors happy man.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
