Well, after Natz, he'll simply be another boring gringo, sigh Nola-B. ma'am.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I came closer to a bear than I ever wanted to this morning, I was at one end of the car and he was the other end, I nearly poo'd myself when I shut the trunk and looked up to see him stood there looking at me!

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

My chinaman cousin will give you a thousand bucks for that bear, he'd drive down there on 5 minutes notice...

Well, we did wait until 5 years to do it, but given that it seems like it'll take 16 months, it is probably good that we did.

The Dane's passport expires next spring and it is a total pain to renew it from within the USA unless you live in NY, DC, Chicago, or California.

Dutch will fit right in in California! (No nuts)...

Makes sense.  I renewed mine this year.  Biggest pain was the passport photos

I was about that close too, but sadly no car between the two of us. We were out walking and I tend to look down when I walk my friends were chatting looking at each other. I looked up and said oh look a bear. I was barely done saying that and realized my friends ran off. Luckily bears were used to ppl where I live in Canada and didn't startle too much and kept on walking. We moved to the other side of the highway at that point instead of the trail.

Part of the issue is that the photos must be taken in-person at a full embassy, not just an honorary one or one they share with another Scandinavian country.

My neighbour, well kind of neighbour over the road and down quite a bit has chickens. In actual fact, I think he has a heap of roosters. I took the dog out for a wander about 0600 before the workmen turned up today, and it was like there were many many crowing at the same time all announcing the dawn. A regular rooster choir. Sounded pretty weird, especially in the fog :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I love the sound they make. Sadly in the city many do not.

I can't even long enough to give them a freezer vacation. They are not meat birds so to fatten them up takes too long.

I wonder why he has so many? Perhaps there is an entire chicken farm back down that lane.  I quite like to listen to them, I can hear them sometimes in the afternoon as well.  It's a pleasant change from the Mother in law cackling any road :D

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
