Believe me, my brother lists the lack of assistance at age 18 as the biggest factor of his resentment. Yes, he is a jerk sometimes though not completely void of compassion. I mention this story because you can raise the kids right and have all the correct rationale on your side and still get burned by your decision.

Well it's sad for your parents to deal with the fact that their child is a jerkface and is keeping their grandchildren from them, when they sound like they were loving parents.  But they should not ever consider this their fault.  I feel badly for them and I don't even know them.

There are many cheap fook hotels in the lower East side. Complete with spitoons, hot and cold running water (hot in the summer and cold in the winter)...

Only about 500 a night. 

 

There are many luxury apartment rentals too. 

 

But you're probably better off staying in NJ, like Hoboken or like Fort Lee...

Stay away from the ghetto like Elizabeth NJ, Newark, Jersey City, etc...

Here's a Polish joke...

A Polish farmer gives his twin sons a horse each for their birthdays. 

Each twin ride their horse and love their horses.

But they can't tell the difference between the 2 horses.

I have no pictures of her

 

The prices ARE bad, but its New York City area so you can't expect anything else

 

These are the cheapest and not that bad I found in NJ.
