Hello there! Have you missed me? LOL

Been here and there.

Finally finished putting all of my fotos from Sankt Petersburg in a facebook album.

If anybody is interested in seeing how that trip went, PM me. Cause it's a facebook link and it's forbidden to be pun on display here ;)

BTW - I just send my passport and all the papers to the US consulate to get a new tourist visa. I met all the requirements to not having to be present in the consulate, so I took an advantage of that. But still they can submit me anyway, or deny my visa application cause I visited Russia. Will have to wait for the outkome. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

If your children cut you off because you didn't pay for their college tuition you did something wrong raising them to begin with.

My own parents raised 7 children, reasonably right for the most part. They did little or nothing to help us with college. The oldest son (not me) bore a lot of resentment over this and cut them off from his family, including 2 of their grandchildren. My parents had almost nothing saved for retirement and my brother was in a position to help them financially but didn't. Ironically, my older brother did help me and a couple of other brothers with tuition at one point.

Getting through college with a humongous amount of debt is one of the top 5 most stressful things that have happened in my life. I didn't bear any resentment towards my parents for their lack of assistance but I can see how one might harbor a life long grudge.

I cannot comprehend how to be angry at your parents for not helping you with tuition.  College is your person choice. No one forces you to attend and you can get jobs, well paying ones, without it.  I certainly don't even use my college education (haven't ridden a horse in years!)

My mom helped by paying my car insurance and for my horse boarding costs (a whopping total of $110 a month for 2 years.)  My father helped me in my 2nd year with some money to live off of, with the condition I never speak of my mother to him again.  That obviously was an issue later when he refused to attend my wedding because my mother was officiating and he chose not to attend.  I didn't call him for 4 years, but he also never called me.

But neither helped me with tuition.  Your brother was a jerk imo for cutting them off for not helping with tuition.  Obviously they weren't in a financial position to do so as they were still likely raising children themselves.  Perhaps something else occurred between them we don't know about.  Whatever anger your brother had towards your parents is his issue, and I'm glad you didn't continue the trend.
