Rant, grrr man:

 

We are peeved with the Postal Disservice around here, grrr man.

(Carriers & management have universally horrible reputations already, sigh man.)

 

Our mail is delivered to a bank of boxes at the street corner, typical around here man.

Every casa has a mail cubbyhole, and there are Many (2+2) parcel bins, see man.

When someone gets a parcel, a numbered key (1, 2, Many, or Many) is left in our cubbybox, tipoff man.

This bank of boxes is probably as old as the subdivision, ancient man.

 

On Thursday, we got key #Many (2+2) in our cubbybox, OK man.

We attempt to open Bin # Many (2+2), key won't turn man.

We leave carrier a note about inoperable key, and can he please put our stuff into another bin, polite we man.

 

On Friday, we return to scrawled return note "key turns to left," duh man.

Carrier furthermore drew arrows on each bin to show direction of key-turn, duh man.

Key to Bin #Many (2+2) still doesn't turn, no man.

 

We leave carrier a note to please put our stuff into a different bin, repeat we man.

Saturday carrier ignores it, duh man.

We taped note to inside of our cubbybox's back door, maybe Monday carrier will comprehend man.

 

We have a vivid mind-movie of our stuff being returned to sender as "unclaimed," :bonk: and grrr man...

Our mail gets to delivered to our door, even when it is -20 out.  My mother's mail gets delivered to my house when she is away, even without her asking or mentioning it to mailperson.  Minnesota 999, Texas 4.

Hahaha, yep.

 

Work clothes are expensive, that is why I repair them when I can.  Thankfully, patching the duck fabric on the backside when they get threadbare isn't very noticeable.  The work pants in Denmark, even when purchased here, are north of $120.  They were more like $150+ there.  Unfortunately, they aren't covered by his employer stateside.

Why?  Growing up in the Northeast, this was something that only happened in apartment buildings or condos.  

 

It just seems so impersonal and inconvenient.  When you want to send something outgoing, what do you do with it, especially if it large?  I just reach out my front door, in my pajamas, and clip it to the outside of my mailbox.  If it is a box or a large item, I put it in a plastic bag and then, clip that to my mailbox...

Ask the Homeowners Associations, which rule the roost with iron fists, sigh man.

("Ewwww... individual mailboxes are UGLY!  Let's ban them!")

It's inconvenient, albeit walking-distance for us personally, sigh man.

There's a mail slot into which outgoing letter-sized stuff can be stuck, si man.

Larger stuff, we must take to the P.O., wait in line forever to be treated rudely man.

Why there are Many (2+2+1) window stations and at most 2 clerks* is beyond us, headscratch we man.

 

*moving like tortoises in molasses, and either with a 'tude or unable to speak English, sigh man
