Yes it's crazy early even for the US in General. They start August 13th here. At least this year I don't have to buy all the ugly jailbird uniforms or school supplies that my daughter never got to use because they were given away.

I am the victim of a cartoon-like yard work accident.

Gathering up the tools out of the shed this morning with Himself helping. Chainsaw, garden cart, fork, and rake.

He hears the phone so drops everything and rushes off to get it. I come around the corner in his absence, and start to pull the yard cart around the front, which rolls right over the business end of the rake he left lying on the grass.

Yep. jumped right up and the handle hit me square on the left side of the forehead, and thumped my glasses into my face. Hard enough to stagger me, which is just when he reappeared. I look like I've gone a round or two with Ali. He, of course, is beside himself.

 

So we carry on, and in a while, the mailman comes up the drive with a package and he wants to know what on earth happened to me. I told him sweetly that the Husband gave me the bash

I did tell him what had really happened, and he found it extremely funny." Like you see in the cartoons"?!? Himself fails to see the humor in any of that. I confess I have a thumping headache, but it's the first decent day we've had for ages, not hot and humid, so back to the coal face.

Then douse it in gasoline and set it on fire. Then spray agent orange on the ground where that rake was resting so nothing can ever grow on that patch of earth ever again!
