Resigned from Job-Financial Documents

Question, I recently resigned from my teaching position to go back to school for a second masters. Technically,  will be done with my contract on June 1st. I have savings and retirement to document as my assets for the financial portion as well as 3 years worth of tax transcripts showing I can provide financially.  I am going for the summer to live with my husband and while there I will be applying for some positions and then coming back to the states once I get a job, honestly not in a rush since financially I will be fine. However, as I review the financial support information I see I need to fill out current employer information once it is time for to actually fill this out, I will not have a current employer. Will this hurt us to get approved by consulate? Should I go ahead and lock down a position before it's time for me to fill this portion out?

Thanks for the help!

Presumably more for an International Student.

Yes, but my question is should I lock down another position before it's time for me to submit financial support information.

Ooops replied to the wrong thread, anyway what matters is your income at the time you need to provide the Affadavit, you can always use a joint sponsor.

Your tax returns show information from the past, so NO, they do not show you "can" (present tense) provide support for your spouse.  Your evidence of liquid assets will be what shows you "can" support your spouse.  When you "fill out" certain portions of the affidavit are not important.  What's important is when the affidavit is submitted.  The information needs to be accurate on the date submitted.  If you HAVE a job and ARE employed at that time, there will be no need to complete the asset section at all, and you can use the I-864EZ.  If you do not HAVE a job at submission time, that's where your "liquid" assets will come into play.  If your submission of the affidavit were TODAY, you ARE employed and can skip the assets and use the I-864EZ.  Watch your "tenses" teacher. ^_^
