Is there something wrong with cases from 2017?

We filed for AOS in July 2017, and I'm sick to death of waking up every day and finding half a dozen people who filed months and months after us get approved outright or their interview scheduled from field offices, including ours, around the country.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for these people and wish them nothing but the best - but how is it fair that we've been waiting almost a year and just had to renew our EAD/AP, yet most people from 2018 aren't even getting far enough into the process to get their EAD/AP first time around.

Is there something wrong with cases from 2017 because it doesn't seem to just be us.

That's awful.

I'm trying to be patient but it's tough when it feels like you've been left behind. Nobody, USCIS, congressmen etc. are giving me any answers and they expect me to wait up to 20 months which they're saying is standard processing times when now it seems if you file you don't even need the EAD/AP.

You're still within the processing time. I'd expect some response by July - September 2018.

06.02.2014 - NoA2

01.04.2014 - Interview.

AoS

03.2015 - AoS started.

09.2015 - Green Card received.

24.07.2017 - NoA1.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

According to their posted processing times, yes - I just don't understand the logic of it. It would help if there was some transparency and I could understand why some cases take 3 months and others take 12 months and so forth. The last update I got was September 17 where it changed to 'Ready to be scheduled for an interview'.

It really sucks when some people have had their K-1 interview, moved here, got married, submitted AOS and been approved all since you last got an update on your case. All through your field office too.

Exactly - it's horrible...as I said in an earlier post, I wish them well. I really do. But how are they jumping the queue? I understand one or two people, anomalies happen - I get it. But it literally seems like everybody who filed before 2018 has been forgotten about. If you go to the processing times on here for AOS, there's been no interviews scheduled for 2017 through our office in months - yet there's been 5 scheduled for January/February filers in the past few weeks.

It took about a year for us... so that's not uncommon. I'd expect something about July for you. Wait until you get to ROC.... it could be a year.. or two.. or more.

You're on a ready to have an interview? Did you make an infopass to check and see if everything is okay with that?

Yes I've had infopass appointments, had senators inquire on my behalf, spoke to tier two officers - they don't tell me anything. All I get is the usual canned response of 'normal processing times' - which as I said, I'd be absolutely fine with if that actually was the case. But it doesn't appear to be. I sound like a broken record by repeating it over and over again and I apologize for that, but it's just hard to fathom that 10-20 months is normal processing when so many from as recent as January this year are through the process already.

I don't mind the wait - ROC will be fine because the citizenship clock will be ticking down. The annoying part right now is that I'm stuck in limbo.

Yep just for those who are interested, I just got off the phone to a tier two who told me I could potentially be waiting another year yet.

When I asked why people who filed much later than me are getting interviews and I'm not, they didn't have an answer.

Ya I'm actually surprised that your case is taking so long considering your office location as so many people that submitted to that office got processed so fast lately. I'm not sure what the deal is.

I know my office just takes forever so I'm not worried at all.

That's super frustrated but try not to worry and expect it to take a while because it's normal usually. Maybe those people just got lucky.

Frustrating I meant

Yeah I know it isn’t just me, I talk to a few people through Philly who filed last summer who haven’t heard anything yet. It’s just not fair. I can understand one or two people, but when you start getting into dozens who have been approved ahead of you it starts to become hella annoying.

I agree I also think it's unfair some states take 3 years and some 4 months..
