Hello VJ,

I'm in mid 30's and she (USC) is in her late 40's and we have 14 years gap between us. We have been in a relationship since one year and I also met her once in the USA after online dating. We are planning to take our relationship to next level. She has strong family ties in the US and it's hard for her to leave everyone to move so the only option is for me to put in to move there. However, when I searched within VJ for the process, I was surprised to find members suggesting such a gap (especially with USC being elder) is a red flag and would attract a lot of scrutiny.

I have no criminal record and we have chat/phone logs, some pictures but not sure what other scrutiny checks would be. Anyone in similar situation and had success or any advise/suggestions about the process would be appreciated.

TIA,
Kris

Exactly as @missileman asked, the age gap and such applies to certain countries such as high fraud ones. For others, it generally isn't much issue but more specific information is needed to best give advice.

I see a few flags (age/online/divorce), and if I see them, any CO would too. A 14-yr age gap could attract scrutiny. A CO could ask if your previous wife was older than you, and if not, why now? Rather uncommon for hindu males to marry older females.

Okay thanks.

Frankly speaking, I don't follow religion to its standards if I did I would have had an arranged marriage by now ;)

However, in such a situation what are the things that can help like documents wise or anything.
