Hi, i have a problem. I applied for 10 years green card in July 2017,  got the extension letter issued on July 6th 2017. My green card anniversary is on August 5th. The extension letter doesn't specifying if the 1 year extension is valid from the issue day or from the green card issue day. In my understanding it should be 1 year from the green card issue day, so Agust 5th 2018.

My DMV is saying the letter is valid only till July 6th 2018 and they extended my licence only till then. Is there any way I could proof them wrong? I tired to find anything on  USCIS pages but no luck. Doea anyone has maybe some official links so I can print it out and get my licence extended?

If the letter is valid till August will I be able to get a stamp in my passport in May? I really need my licenceand I'm not sure what to do, the next USCIS is 3 hours away, don't wanna drive for nothing either.

It's one year from the green card anniversary.

Your NOA letter should be pretty specific about the day.  The verbiage used to be pretty vague, but they changed it to be more specific.  If you have trouble at the DMV, ask for a supervisor.

Most ROC filings take at least a year now.

It's up to your local office as to whether or not they give you a stamp.  Some offices are rather stingy, and won't give a stamp until one month before the expiration date.  Others, especially if you have a good reason like upcoming overseas travel (or the DMV!) may be more lenient.

Good luck!
